Right First-time Welds!

Fabrication shop welding conditions available on-site allowing for impeccable welding results!

On a project in the North of England, we provided our client with the design and qualification of each weld before going on-site. The GTAW process is predominantly a workshop based technology, however in true Serimax style, we recognise that out of the yearly 250,000 welds we do, 95% of them are on the project site in challenging environments, from the heat in Saudi deserts to the muddy horizonal rain of the North of England!

With this in mind, we managed to find the right balance, technology and output required to successfully deliver this project. Serimax thus created a robust ‘mobile fabrication workshop’ that is ‘plug and play’. A term used for connecting only power and gas or HVO to the habitat and then the unit is ready to weld.

Challenges

• Safety first.

• Welding solution to meet harsh environments (all year round).

• Minimal-commission flushing.

• Spatter-free solution.

Solutions

  • Safety was not a concern because our teams live and breath safety with all the necessary certifications to meet all project expectations
  • Who said rain? Not to worry, it's like welding in a workshop with a Serimax Welding Hut
  • Minimal commissioning flushing was no issue to our strict and rigorous project assessment for most suitable welding process.
  • Potable water to run through the pipeline? No worries, our spatter-free first-pass (GTAW and GS-FCAW) Welding makes everything safe and sound
