The Rise of Generative AI

Generative AI has sparked innovation and revolutioised many industries and aspects of life. It can compose art, aid drug discovery, streamline business operations and fuel creative expression. In doing so, it has helped to empower people and industries, shaping a future where innovation and human potential can intertwine like never before.

While generative AI holds a lot of promise, its deployment can also create significant harm including the spreading of misinformation, deepfake manipulation and privacy breaches. Bias amplification, job displacement and ethical dilemmas have also all come into light recently with many people demanding standards and safeguarding to be put in place.

In order to fully embrace this groundbreaking technology, we must ensure responsible development and deployment are met to mitigate an increase in these harmful consequences.

Below we’re taking a look at some of the companies making great strides with the use of generative AI as well as some of the dangers around its current use.
