The secret of Consciousness as an inspiration by Jorge Drexler

Over the past month of November we decided to launch our ´Colours campaign´, which was born out of the fact and reflection that we are losing our most valued assets of nature due to our own actions. Now we are all preparing to say farewell to them.

It is likely that those who talk about our generation, as the one which will shame or inspire future generations, are probably right. They will inevitably ask themselves how we have been capable of traveling to Mars and failed to be conscious enough to see how our behaviors have deteriorated our planet.

My dear friend Jorge Drexler, in his album ´Salvavidas de hielo´ (Ice Lifeguard) released in 2017, already made us think of that question, with his song ´Despedir a los glaciares´ (Farewell to the glaciers)

His reflections came all the way from Venezuela and as inspiration from his friend, Alejandra Melfo, astrophysic researcher, who has dedicated her academic career to the study and conservation of the glaciers, specifically The Corona Glacier, one of the last Glaciers to disappear in Venezuela.

In August 2019, according to the BBC,  Iceland decided to place a gravestone as a tribute to the first extinguished glacier, as well as announcing that within 200 years they would all disappear. (+)

Here at CLOSCA we asked ourselves the same question and pledged to pay tribute to inspire society. A tribute paid not just to the disappearance of our glaciers but to all other ecosystems that are in danger of disappearing. With that reflection, we can regain consciousness of the importance of them in our planet, our home.

If consciousness means the action of sharing knowledge in a collective manner, can we through our iconic products transmit the same message for other nature icons. Like Glacier, Savanna, Beach & Coral Reef

The Endangered  Color Collection. How to step up and save our nature icons?

Despedir a los glaciares. Jorge Drexler
