The secret powers of Shiva!
Shiva is the Mahadev Devonke Dev! (Lord of the Lord's ). Secret powers of God Shiva are so many. Shiva has no start nor end, so nothing can destroy Him. Shiva has the most destructive weapon called the Pashupatastra in his Pashupatinath form, which can wipe out the entire Universe. Shiva's trident ( the three spiked weapon ) is powerful and no one except Shiva and Goddess Parvathi can hold the trident.
Shiva is the creator of this Universe (Jagatkaarana). Shiva's third eye (Ajna Chakra) has immense energy, which can turn anything into ash. Shiva in His Nataraja form, performs the Cosmic dance and thus dissolves everyone and everything into Him. Shiva's Kalabhairava, the God for time and death and Veerabhadra, the Warrior form of Shiva are powerful forms of Shiva.
Shiva's immense powers are due to His Yogic energy, because of the His continuous meditation/Samadhi, where in He has the Ashtasiddhis, the 8 super natural powers and navanidhis, the 9 treasures. Shiva never wastes His powers and energy on unnecessary worldly affairs, He is always in His deep Samadhi. He never opens His eyes until it's mandate, He is detached. Even when someone compliments Him or comments Him, He doesn't care and never reacts, because He knows that He neither loses or gain, from such things.
When anyone speaks less, remains detached, reciprocate to worldly things less often, automatically he saves a lot of energy and becomes powerful. Thus, Shiva's each secret power is very powerful. Lord Shiva has the potential to counter and destroy any embodied form of Lord Krishna’s energy. The demon Shankhachuda was Sudama in his previous birth who was an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. Shankhachuda was also an ardent devotee of Hari in his demon birth and received an impenetrable armour from the garuda-bannered lord. The demon was power hungry and sought to vanquish all the dikpalas of all the directions and establish his firm suzerainty in the three worlds. Once Shankhachuda engaged himself in a fierce fight with Lord Shiva in the foothills of Kailasha mountain. The bull-bannered lord fired the powerful Maheshwarastra but the missile had no impact upon the demon’s body to the protection offered by the armour of Lord Krishna.

The Dānava hurled divine missiles at him and showered arrows like the cloud pouring rain. He exhibited various kinds of deceptive measures invisible and inscrutable to all the excellent gods and Gaṇas and terrifying as well. On seeing that, Śiva sportively discharged thereat the excessively divine Māheśvara missiles that destroy all illusions. All the illusions, were quelled rapidly by its brilliance. Though they were divine missiles they became divested of their brilliance. Lord Shiva was aware of this and smilingly raised his all-powerful Trishul to destroy the armour and the body of Shankhachuda inside it. However the blue-throated lord was stopped by a celestial voice which eulogized him as the all-powerful destroyer of the universe.
Then in the battle, the powerful lord Śiva suddenly seized his trident which could not be withstood even by brilliant persons, in order to slay him. In order to prevent him then, an unembodied celestial voice said—“O Śiva, do not hurl the trident now. Please listen to this request. O Śiva, by all means, you are competent to destroy the entire universe in a trice. What doubt then in regard to a single Dānava Shankhachuda? Still, the limit imposed by the Vedas should not be disregarded by you, the lord. O great god, listen to that. Make it truthful and fruitful.”
The celestial voice urged Lord Shiva not to destroy the armour of Lord Krishna as it was previously ordained by Brahma that Shankhachuda can’t be killed if he put on the armour of Hari. The Pinaka-bearing lord smilingly agreed to the request of the celestial voice and commanded Lord Vishnu to approach Shankhachuda in the guise of a brahmin and ask for the armour as alms for the purpose of removing the protection from the demon.
“O lord Śiva, it has been mentioned by Brahmā, that, as long as he wears the armour of Viṣhṇu and as long as his wife maintains the marital fidelity, Shankhachuda has neither death nor old age. Please make those words truthful.” On hearing this celestial voice, Śiva said “So be it”. Viṣhṇu came there at the wish of Śiva. Śiva, who is the goal of the good, commanded him. Then, in the guise of an old brahmin, Viṣhṇu, the foremost of those who wield magic, approached Shankhachuda and told him—“O lord of Dānavas, give me the alms for which I have come to you. I
I shall not say openly what I wish to have from you who are favourably disposed to the distressed. I shall tell you when you have promised me first.” With face and eyes indicating pleasure the king replied affirmatively. Then the deceptive Viṣhṇu in the form of a brahmin said—“I am the suppliant for your armour.” On hearing that, the lord of Dānavas, a well wisher of the brahmins and of truthful word handed over the divine armour, his vital breath, to the brahmin. Viṣhṇu thus snatched off his armour by means of deception. Lord Shiva then easily finished off Shankhachuda once and for all by preserving the request of the celestial voice to not kill the demon under the protection of Lord Krishna’s impenetrable armour.
