Seeking Individuals Who Want to be (Better) Trainers
Are you like Jan? She’s been conducting training for a while, but she feels that she still has a lot to learn.
She was never trained as a trainer.
She only knows how to lecture.
Many of her participants don’t interact or engage in class.
She can’t tell if they’re learning anything.
She wants to incorporate more interesting learning activities.
She’s afraid of losing control over the class if she does that.
Jan needed to find a train the trainer program that would teach her how to design, deliver, and evaluate a participatory training program.
She decided to attend the five-day Performance Excellence program conducted by Deb Laurel, who has trained and certified trainers in the US, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Croatia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates.
During the program, Jan:
Discovered how adults learn.
Followed a six-step lesson design process.
Created her own lesson plans.
Experienced and created interactive learning activities.
Learned how to maintain control when facilitating activities.

She knows how to:
Get participant buy-in and cooperation.
Meet the needs of different learning preferences.
Stimulate interaction and engagement .
Facilitate a variety of learning activities.
Handle difficult participant behavior with tact.
Achieve specific, observable, measurable learning objectives.
Have participants demonstrate their learning in the class.
