2024 Forecast

The start of a new year means the resurgence of legislative sessions, with many states already well underway. According to several publications, these topics are expected to get a lot of attention in statehouses across the country this year:


DDH Compact nears 7-state requirement for 2024 enactment

The Dentist and Dental Hygienist Compact (DDH) supports licensure mobility for dentists and dental hygienists in participating member states.

So far, these states have enacted the compact into law:

  1. Iowa
  2. Washington
  3. Tennessee

Several other states have pending legislation: Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Indiana, Colorado and Wisconsin.

This compact is the result of a partnership between CSG, the United States Department of Defense , the American Dental Association , and the American Dental Hygienists' Association .
