Sexy lies that stymie success (don't fall for them)
"Success" isn't sexy.
The trappings of success can be sexy: the big fancy house, the Lambo and 3 week overseas family vacations twice a year.
But the process of achieving this "success" is often a tough, boring slog.
Of course, a lot of "guru's" want you to believe that achieving this kind of success is easy
Their business model depends on it
They have a sexy pitch that promises a "Golden Key" (in the form of a product, course, system, etc) that will unlock the shortcut to your success... if you fork over $9 997 first.
Yet success doesn't work that way
If it were possible to copy and paste your way to a 7-figure bank account then the entire coaching industry would be filled with millionaires.
(never mind the fact that what worked for said guru's back when the coaching industry was new doesn't work anymore and they're not updating their programs...)
Chances are you know all this already
Me too.
(Even though, sigh, I've fallen for the sales pitch a few times in my coaching career. Spoiler: I still don't have a 7-figure bank account... not that I want that, but that's a post for another day...)
No, most of us feel on a gut level that shortcuts, get rich quick ploys, and other sexy schemes are all sizzle and no steak.
We know that stuff is too good to be true (even if we still occasionally fall for it.)
I’ve noticed, though, that there’s another idea people often buy into that stops them from achieving their own version of success
To prove this point to you I want you to think of someone you look up to who has excelled in their field.
Someone who represents success in their career.
Someone like Michael Jordan, Mozart, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Prince. (or even that other coach you admire)
When you think of these folks and their level of success, what are some words that pop into your mind about them?
"Talented," "lucky," "gifted." or "special"?
Am I right?
Most humans would naturally think along these lines
And not along the lines of "incredibly driven, hard-working, tried more times than failed, etc."

I feel it's easier for us to allow our brains to tell us that the people who seem to have everything we desire must be special in some way because otherwise we're not stepping up to do everything in our power to achieve the level of success we truly desire.
When the Grammy-winning musician Prince died suddenly a few years ago, news feeds filled with stories about how the world lost a “rare talent”.
What you didn’t hear as much about was the fact that Prince, as the son of a jazz pianist, grew up in a home that encouraged his interest in music.
And by the time Prince made his national debut in 1978, he’d been practicing, playing and performing intensely for the previous 15 years in and around his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
No doubt Prince was a wildly talented songwriter and performer.
But a rare talent?
I don’t think so.
He just worked harder than most of his peers.
Same goes for Arnie, even David Beckham (go watch their movies - they're brilliant!)
The idea that all these people achieved greatness due to some rare talent or gift is appealing
In fact, it's sexy
But it's also false.
The truth is that the folks who achieve historic success are (almost always) the hardest working people in their field.
And that's a great thing.
Because it means that the version of success you desire is in reach for you... if you're willing to do the boring, uncomfortable and often hard work to achieve it.
I doubt this post is going to result in many enquiries to work with me because I'm not getting you hyped up on the next magic bullet that's going to skyrocket your income overnight
But if you'd like to see how I built a coaching business that allows me to earn up to $30k per month working just a few hours per day WITHOUT having to get on sales calls then send me a message saying CLIENTS.
And I'm not gonna lie... getting to this point wasn't easy but with everything I've learned over the years I can certainly help make it easier for you
Oh, and I don't charge anywhere near $9997 either ;-)
