Not a shaggy dog story
Today I 'ran' the Target Ovarian Cancer 10k and at the forefront of my mind was the fact that I am 52 years old - the exact age that my stepchildren's mother died from ovarian cancer and also the age of my husband's cousin who was lost to ovarian cancer. In fact 11 women die every day from ovarian cancer... but it doesn't have to be this way.
I am so proud to Chair Target Ovarian Cancer and have committed to personally raising £1 million to help transform the outcome for women with ovarian cancer. The charity is focused on education, support and research across all four nations. By raising awareness the disease will be diagnosed earlier, and thus the chance of survival is dramatically changed.
It was ghastly weather today for the 10k and Herman only has very short legs... if you would consider donating - however large or small - we would be immensely grateful. Click Here to Make a Donation. Thank you very much - I realise that it is traditional to do this before the event but I couldn't find a moment...
Thank you to the wonderful team at Newgate Communications who went the extra mile (or 10k) today for the cause - you are very special and I know I always have you by my side.
