A Conversation -

Sudhanshu – Today is Shivratri ……. the darkest night of the year …..!!!!

Namrata – What does one do on Shivratri ??

Sudhanshu – It is a night of upsurge of Cosmic Energy – one has to stay awake

and sit straight with upright spine ……. To absorb the energy …..!!!!

Namrata – How does one stay awake …….. ????

Sudhanshu - Puja, Sadhana, Bhajan singing and Dancing ……..!!!

Namrata - Dancing …..???/…..!!!!!

Sudhanshu – Haven’t you heard the phrase – Dance of Shiva !!!!!

Namrata – Dance of Shiva …. What is it ????

Sudhanshu – SHIVA IS THE DANCING STILLNESS IN ALL OF US !!!!!

Namrata – Aap toh kucch bhi kah dete hai……. Aap toh unko poet bhi kah denge - ……!!!

Sudhanshu – HE …….. HE IS THE POET – There is a poem by someone - Gulhati, Shailendra.

SHIVA IS THE POET

He is the poet

and writer of the whole.

His single poem

is the making of the world.

He is the keeper of our breath,

in this whirlwind space we call life.

He, the keeper of our little bowl,

He is Shiva the Lord,

Mahadev.

SOME POEMS ON AND OF SHIVA -

FOR YOU ARE THAT!!

Ah your effervescent delight!

Behold, the most beautiful in existence.

O Parvati, seize this scene of the eye,

in the heart centre

of your own sigh.

For you are that

which you behold!

Know this, and bless this sky.

Namah Shivaye Aum Namah Shivaye!

{Derived from The Vijnanbhairava, Shiva’s talks to Parvati}

THERE ARE TIMES

There are times when the dream, is like waking.

Times when the waking, is like a dream.

Have you ever, O Parvati, felt beyond both, a space?

There, the Yogi is always awake.

{Derived from The Vijnanbhairava, Shiva's talks to Parvati}

THIS SPLASH OF BEAUTY

This splash of beauty,

this joy

that expands your being.

Know this, O Parvati, to be Thy Own Divinity at play.

Know this, as the timeless seeing.

{Derived from the Vijnanbhairava, Shiva's talks to Parvati}

A WHOLE WORLD CONVERGES!

Deep within your heart

is a smallest point

where all the beauty of the world converges.

O Dear One, knowing thus,

it is no wonder then

that all the world emerges too,

from that heart point that is You.

{Derived from The Vijnanbhairava, Shiva's talks to Parvati}

DEEP WITHIN YOUR HEART

Deep within your heart

O Devi, thou Love of mine,

is a smallest point,

where all the beauty of the world converges,

and glows in a brilliance Divine…

{Derived from The Vijnanbhairav, Shiva’s talks to Parvati}

FOR THIS RISING OF THE SOUL, YOU DESCEND!

Feel the magic: it is not the object, but you, that arise!

This springing of your bliss, is Yoga, O Rising One.

Feel the magic: for this rising of the soul, you descend!

Into time and form, O Timeless One.

You are the Magic you feel, O Magical One.

{Derived from Siva Sutras, Shiva’s revelations to Sage Vasugupta}

YOU RAINED

When Grace happened,

you rained.

This desert heart

renounced its pain.

You rained

and finally,

in every drop,

I saw the same.

When Grace happened,

I was swept

in a sea,

forever changed.

{Derived from Sivastrotravalli, Sage Utpala’s praise of Shiva}

KEVALYA

In the deepest oneness,

sits alone,

the One who knows

He, is all.

{From Naam Roop - A Tribute to the Divine}

And now a traditional poem –
