Simultaneous Double Book Study Experiment

Simultaneous Double Book Study Experiment

Hello, my LinkedIn people!

Would you like to participate in an experiment? I hope you’re all ferocious readers, right?

And as you probably know the future is faster than we think! So the experiment is to see if humans can digest two different books at the same time and remember what each book is all about.

1.      Setup. Find two books – one regular book or e-book and another – an audiobook. Books should be both different and never read before.

2.      Experiment: Put on earphones and hit to play the audiobook. Now start reading the book or e-book on your favorite reader. I use a laptop but any device will do.

3.      Focus on reading. It will be hard for a couple of minutes but focus on reading and the audiobook will fade into the background. Do it for a while – 10, 20, 30 min if you have time.

4.      Remembering. Stop reading after 30 min and stop audiobook play.  Write down what you remember from each book.

5.      Now a speed test. Read the same book from the start for the same time interval as in step 2. Note where did you finish. Did you read more, less, or approximately the same amount of words?

6.      Summarize and tell us what you have learned from this experience? Use comments section.

Thanks in advance
