Six Sigma at Your Doorstep
How frequently do you host visitors at your house? As the COVID era is over, I suppose that the number of visits is gradually rising. While some of us find it tedious to attend to visitors' requirements when they arrive, others look forward to their arrival.
What makes you believe it is a chore for us? Most likely because some visitors are highly picky, and others are content to work with what we have and make the most of it. The second thought that comes to mind when you see the title is what does Six Sigma have to do with this.
Focus of Six Sigma
The focus of Six Sigma is on the output that the customer needs and how to guarantee that we deliver it. This is just as effective as trying to anticipate the needs of your visitors. We can work towards making it ready for them if we have a solid plan in place and are aware of the type of output. Nevertheless, if we don't know the visitor's personality or how to please them, we'll just assume things and risk everything going horribly wrong.
The Process of Six Sigma
The Six Sigma process is used in enterprises to identify and meet client needs, whether they are for goods or services. We first Define what is important to the consumer and then assess our ability to cater to it or how nearly we can give it. The following phase is to get ready for corrections, which must be made by Measuring current performance and Analyzing to identify the underlying root causes that need to be fixed in order to ensure that the output meets requirements. These root causes are worked upon and the entire process is improved to meet customer demand. Once this is finished, all that is left to do is control the situation to keep the process steady. That’s DMAIC in a nutshell, for you.
The Ease and Importance of Six Sigma
Hence, Six Sigma is not difficult to understand and is something that all of us can readily connect to, regardless of the size of the organization or the field we work in. Simply put, this makes life easier for us. Just as if you planned in advance for the visitor, you would be in a very comfortable position to anticipate their needs and make the entire process of his visit a success and a special experience for them and for you as well. Six Sigma takes us easily to a Win-Win situation by giving us a very disciplined methodology for solving any problem cases.

Application of Six Sigma
Just like we looked at applying the thought process of Six Sigma to the arrival of a guest, this concept of Six Sigma can be applied to any process that keeps the customer at the center and identifies the CTQ as the primary first stop. Once this is done well and the foundation of a precise and object-driven Project Charter made the rest of the process will smoothly follow as you move step by step into the different phases of Six Sigma, i.e., Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control.
The Circle of Continuous Improvement
One fact we should always keep in mind is that there is always scope for improvement. Each time we do something, even if we cook something, we find that the next time we do it we could do it slightly better. There is no perfection in the world; there is always something we can improve on. That is why the world has been progressing so quickly with so many changes. Six Sigma recognizes this and understands that while one goal is achieved, it always opens the door for a higher goal.
Conclusion
Thus, Six Sigma is applicable at your home and at your workplace; whichever doorstep you are at, always remember that there is a need to anticipate the customer and make improvements so that you can survive in this world of relentless competition.
And yes, at NIQC, we understand this need and are ready to bring Six Sigma to the doorsteps of our customers and keep them updated on all the new advancements in this area.
