SLASSCOM EXAMINES OPPORTUNITIES FOR IT/BPM SERVICES IN THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA
Aimed at increasing export revenue for IT/ BPM companies by connecting them with business opportunities via a global network of channel partners, The Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) recently conducted a webinar on the opportunities for the sector in Saudi Arabia.
Organized by the SLASSCOM Global Trade and Investment Forum, the keynote speaker for the event was H E P.M Amza, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Outlining that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the largest economies in the Middle East with a population of over 32 million and GDP per capita around US $21,000, he cited the major opportunities for trade and investment in the kingdom.
Giving an insight into their Vision 2030, the Saudi programme of economic reform and modernisation that aims to diversify the economy away from a reliance on oil, while delivering greater inclusivity for Saudi citizens, and as Saudi Arabia continues on this path of economic diversification, the ambassador cited that there are great opportunities for Sri Lankan businesses to export their services.
Endorsing these views, Mr. Omar Fatha Rally of Tellida a Business Process Outsourcing company that provides Legal process outsourcing, finance outsourcing, call center outsourcing and Tech Support and Mr. Anuradha Gajanayaka from Bistec Global that offers financial services, software development services, digital marketing services & IT system management, made presentations of their positive experience in working in the Saudi Arabian Market

The SLASSCOM Global Trade and Investment Forum Head, Shehan Selvanayagam also gave an overview of Sri Lanka’s IT/BPM Industry and showcased how the industry has achieved its success by being creative, flexible, agile and proactive.
The IT/BPM companies thereafter had the opportunity to present their products and services directly to the attendees and work on a number of networking opportunities with the audience.
Having been a forerunner in establishing new connections for the Sri Lankan IT/BPM companies to reach global markets, this was another forward-thinking initiative by SLASSCOM, who has been a trailblazer for the IT/BPM sector in Sri Lanka by continuously supporting the growth of the industry to reach global heights, with proactive strategies launched for local businesses to establish lucrative connections in the international market.
