Sleepless? Combat Eye Bags!
In the working world, the hours or duration of work are becoming increasingly flexible. There's no certainty regarding when work begins or ends. It's no wonder many people, both men and women, work irregular hours, sometimes less than 9 hours or even more than 9 hours.
It has negative effects on both body health and skin health. According to the health website Alodokter.com, some of these effects include the appearance of dark circles under the eyes, accelerated skin aging, dry skin, dull complexion, acne and blackheads, and worsening skin problems.
One very noticeable effect is the appearance of dark bags under the eyes. These dark circles are caused by collagen damage in the facial skin, which serves to keep the skin elastic. As a result, the skin becomes loose and causes dark effects around the eyelids.
A journal titled "Skin Collagen through the Lifestages: importance for Skin Health and Beauty" by David M. Reilly and Jennifer Lozano discusses how as collagen levels decline, the collagen structure becomes more fragile and brittle, leading to weakened skin structural support. The skin loses volume and firmness, becoming thin and wrinkled.

To address this, many methods exist, such as regulating sleep time and finding personal care products that can protect collagen while improving appearance. One of these is skincare products containing Vitamin K or Phytonadion.
Dermatologist Anar Mikhailov explains on the site Byrdie.com that in addition to helping with blood clots and bruises, vitamin K also plays a role in protecting collagen.
Vitamin K or Phytonadion combined with other ingredients, may help improve visible signs of aging. According to a study from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), a gel containing phytonadione (a form of vitamin K1), retinol, and vitamins C and E was tested for its ability to reduce dark circles and wrinkles on the lower eyelids.
Nearly half of the study participants saw changes in the appearance of dark circles after eight weeks. Some patients also observed slight changes in noticeable wrinkles.
