A small rant ahead...
Why do so few people do ANYTHING to improve their lot in life?
Have you tried lately to get anyone to read a book or make 10 follow-up sales calls, or do anything to make their business more successful?
In my experience, it's darned difficult.
It's not a coincidence that ALL the richest entrepreneurs I know are habitual studiers. They read and work on themselves. Their ways of doing business, their ways of thinking. Some of these guys are worth hundreds of millions. But they're still learning and improving.
And you need to be too.
And not just you.
Your salespeople, your every staff member, your customers even, all need constant training and re-training, constant motivation.
Key word: constant. It never stops. The need never goes away.
Idiots insist on telling me that they just don't have time to read, listen, study, prepare, so they waste their time chopping with a dull axe...and then wonder why they aren't clearing the forest.
My patience for these people is running out.
The world is changing. That's a good thing. It's creating countless opportunities for the entrepreneurs able to open their eyes and see them. But for those who are blinkered there really is no hope.
I got an email last week from a Private Client whose purpose in writing was to tell me that she has no time to read our monthly publication - let alone time to produce her own newsletter for her own customers. Phooey. She's dead in the water. Drowned in a vortex of her own making. She's a hamster stuck in the wheel. Spinning it round and round and going nowhere. What a pathetic and rubbish place to be...
Never forget that there's a direct link between your propensity to learn and implement and your success (and wealth).
All is within your control. You get to choose.
Rant over.
Have a great week,
Nigel.
