SMART CONTENT SCHEDULING SOFTWARE

Do you schedule and automate any of your social media content? But before you answer that…firstly, do you know what ‘scheduling’ or ‘automating’ actually means?

‘Scheduling’ social media is to set up, in advance, a day and a time for the content to post. You are not posting in the here and now, but some time in the future – whether that is for some time that day, or next week, or next month!

‘Automating’ is the publishing and sharing of content and media without any human intervention, so using software, tools and apps to do the work for you. This includes automatic resharing and so on.

Scheduling and automating might sound a bit scary at first, a bit too techie and even futuristic and out of reach. However, there are user-friendly tools you can use to make things SO MUCH easier. 

  • You can plan your social media and set posts up to publish themselves on certain days and times. 
  • You can create content plans, so different categories go out on different days.
  • You can even set regular posts to go out weekly so you can SET and FORGET it (Hallelujah!)

If you want to use more than one social media platform then content scheduling software is for you! 

If you want to use one social media platform and cover 24 hours a day then content scheduling is for you!

If you want to make better use of your time (and therefore money), then content scheduling is for you.

The best scheduling tool I have tried is SmarterQueue and you can trial it for a month instead of 14 days with my referral link (listed at the end of this blog).

  • Create a Post (yay we know this one!)

  • Queue (the list of posts we have scheduled)
  • Analytics (the numbers, views, likes and interesting stuff like that!)
  • Categories (eg blog posts, articles, self promotion, tips)
  • Posting Plan (like Outlook for social media!)
  • Profiles (Our different channels eg Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc)

Setting up your categories gets your social media streamlined... and crystal clear in your mind.

Colour coding the categories is a great feature, so you can easily spot content on your Posting Plan!

You can delete categories if you like, or adapt the names. If you delete a category, SmarterQueue will add the content to your chosen category or you can delete the content.

Create new ones as the software can adapt with your business if you change products, create new services, pivot or otherwise!

Scheduling a Post

Creating a post in SmarterQueue helps to organise your social media content. You choose the Category from the tailored list you create. You can then paste in your content or write a post.  Then you can add Media, eg images, gifs or video. (SmarterQueue will remind you of what’s allowed for each platform!)

As you can see below, there is also an option to post the content once or Re-queue it to publish again. (This is great for sharing useful and informative content!)
