Smile-Worthy Affirmations to Lighten Your Day

Smile-Worthy Affirmations to Lighten Your Day

Welcome back to One Minute Reset. This week’s tip is all about adding a bit of humor to your affirmations to bring a smile to your face and remind you not to take life too seriously.

This Week’s Tip: Smile-Worthy Affirmations

Context: Anytime, especially when you’re feeling a bit tense or stressed.

Why it Matters: Typical affirmations like “I’ve got this” and “I am calm and capable” are great, but sometimes we need something with a bit of humor. A playful affirmation can lighten your mood, reduce stress, and bring instant joy to your day. Plus, laughing at ourselves keeps things in perspective!

Action Steps:

• Pick an Affirmation with Attitude: Choose a fun, smile-worthy affirmation to set the tone for the day. Here are a few to get you started:

o “I can handle anything, even that spreadsheet from you-know-where.”

o “I am one small meltdown away from greatness.”

o “I am a magnet for good vibes (and coffee).”

o “I let that *** go!” (because some things just aren’t worth the stress!)

o “Today, I am 99% fabulous and 1% not-so-fabulous—and that’s okay.”

o “I’m basically thriving...or faking it very well.”

o “If I mess up, I’ll laugh it off because I’m a resilient work-in-progress.”

• Put it Somewhere You’ll See: Write it on a sticky note, add it as your screensaver, or set a reminder on your phone. Let it be a light-hearted nudge whenever you need a pick-me-up.

• Feel the Shift: Notice how these playful words lift your mood, help you let go of the small stuff, and remind you not to take things too seriously.

Adding humour to affirmations is a powerful way to boost your happiness, shift perspective, and build resilience. Life’s serious enough—make it fun when you can!
