Achievements

  • Throughout my 15+ years in dance and 7 years in education working with children. Locally and nationally, across the West Midlands and internationally, across 4 countries, Jamaica 2019, Senegal 2018, Italy 2017 and Thailand 2015. I have consistently demonstrated excellence and dedication. From delivering outreach workshops and dance education programmes, my commitment to uplifting children from ages 5 - 18 years has set me apart.
  • Throughout my artistic journey, I have had the privilege of creating my very own dance blog, which is now a newsletter, a successful podcast featuring dancers of Caribbean heritage and founding my community dance company UMDC, which collectively, I believe embodies the essence of creativity and innovation.

Success Stories & Future Aspirations

  • Through using dance and movement in the classroom as a method to break down language barriers, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of dedicated efforts in enhancing the lives of children. These experiences motivate me to continue my work with even greater enthusiasm. For the Outstanding Contribution to Children's Award. “Tamar has built a great relationship with the pupils over the past 6 weeks. She is always helpful and friendly and fed back any behaviour concerns or suggestions about the children and how the club is structured. I look forward to welcoming Tamar back to our school term”. - Head of PE Primary School Teacher. Birmingham “I learned technique, posture, musicality and more” - Pupil, Year 6
  • Winning the Creative Arts of the Year Award would not only be a personal achievement but a recognition of the importance of being inclusive of all voices and communities. Dance and the arts is truly a great way to express yourself. I am excited about the potential to engage more people through my art.
