Space odyssey for Love, Success and Happiness

Chapter 1 - How it all began

Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, there lived a brave asteroid miner named Will. One day he decided to leave the asteroid belt around his home planet, where he had mined valuable minerals and raw materials for so many years. He had saved up some space coins and wanted to try his luck in the depths of space. And so he set off.

He had been on the journey for several years, had seen many amazing, wondrous and sometimes even funny things. He had met the dark and the light side of the Force, he met beings that were half human and half machine and also human-like beings with pointed ears, who put logic above feelings and had hardly any sense of humor and many a time he could be glad to have survived the adventure.

One day he finally came to an area of the universe that no other asteroid miner had entered before him and landed on a planet of which it was said that the planet's ruler not only had a beautiful unmarried daughter, but that the planet was also economically very successful. And Will wanted to see both with his own eyes.

After his landing he was actually received by Lilja, the daughter of the planet ruler, and was immediately enraptured. If one were to ask Will today, he would certainly say that it was love at first sight. But at that time, he could hardly form a clear thought. Lilja was equally attracted to the alien asteroid miner and made it a point to personally show him her home planet and proudly introduce him to the thriving economy. After a few days, they both realized that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and together they went before the planet ruler to ask for his approval.

The planetary ruler listened attentively to the couple and looked at them for a long time without speaking. Even his facial expression did not indicate whether he agreed or not. Finally, he smiled briefly before saying seriously and calmly, "Will, my daughter's happiness is important to me, and I can and have seen in recent days how happy she is. But as ruler of this planet, I am first and foremost committed to the welfare of the people. My ancestors and I have managed to provide prosperity and security through wise economic management. The secret has been that we have never been satisfied with being good, but have always tried to be better. For we know that he who ceases to be better ceases to be good and is doomed. Whoever marries my daughter will become the future ruler of this planet and must prove himself worthy and able to continue our successful path. I will therefore subject you to five challenges. If you master them successfully, you will marry Lilja and become the new ruler of this planet, so that I can devote myself entirely to the breeding of my beloved space carps. But if you fail, you will be transferred to the planetary accounting department and will check travel expense reports for the rest of your life. Do you agree?"

Will looked first at the planetary ruler and then at Lilja, startled. The prospect of having to check travel expense reports for the rest of his life made him want to flee on the spot. But at the sight of the beautiful Lilja, he knew she was worth taking that risk. And so he looked the planet ruler firmly in the eye and said, "I am ready!"

The planetary ruler raised one of his mighty eyebrows and said, "So be it! Hear, then, the first of five challenges."
