Spoiler alert: it’s about masks again

I’ve been sharing a lot about my new COVID-inspired business venture, Outlaw Masks.

I’m so proud that my co-founder and I have been able to build a brand that helps people in so many ways.

The most obvious way we’re helping is the products themselves. These masks fill a vital need for protective wear that’s comfortable enough to wear during a long, hard shift.

But it’s about much more than that. It’s more than I can even fit in this email.

We want to inspire others to use their ingenuity to get through this tough time. By talking openly about my challenges, fears, and how I’m moving forward anyway, I hope to show others that it’s possible to win if you just don’t quit.

Now, we’re celebrating the cultures that forged our unsinkable attitudes.

I’m so proud to introduce you to the Heritage Collection.

The Heritage Collection includes four new masks and two new tee-shirt designs inspired by the two cities where Outlaw Masks was born.

I’m from Miami, where Latinx culture is everywhere you turn. This city was practically built by people who faced impossible decisions and decided to make their path in life. There's so much flavor and vibrance; you can almost taste it in the air.

Reggie, my co-founder, and brother-in-law is from Los Angeles. Talk about diversity! LA has Hollywood, theme parks, and some of the poshest living in the world. It also has gangs, slums, and many people who came with nothing, hoping to find an opportunity.

Both cities are beautiful. Iconic, even.

We drew inspiration from Miami Vice and the Los Angeles Lakers to create designs that truly captured and honored our hometowns.

I believe that everyone should be proud of their heritage. Through this Heritage Collection, I hope to share that message.

As always, I’m here to talk. Reach out if you want to talk masks, or ask for advice on how to power forwards when it looks like a bumpy road ahead. I love to help.

Stay safe,

Carlos Gil
