Is this the Spring Break you're experiencing? {It doesn't have to be this way}

It’s Spring Break. While everyone around you is excited to venture south for warmer weather, you’re freaking out.

March is notoriously packed with deadlines and client demands. Adding insult to injury, it’s a promotion year and your kids are out of school for a full week with no childcare.

So, you agree to schlep your in-laws in Florida thinking, “A few days in the sun won’t be so bad.”

You know you have a lot of work to do, but the idea of walking barefoot in the sand sounds dreamy…

::Books flights::

From the moment you land, your phone is blowing up and you’re itching to get a few emails out before dinner.

But you’re worried your mother-in-law is going to give you flack about working on vacation (again).

Feelings of guilt and discomfort arise as you reluctantly put your phone away… until 10pm when everyone's in bed.

You sneak away to the bathroom with your laptop and phone, using the toilet as a pseudo-desk as you set your team up for the following day.

After a few hours, you go to bed thinking, “Good, it’s all taken care of. Beach tomorrow.”

… until you wake up to an unexpected fire drill from your client, demanding your immediate attention.

Say goodbye to the sand.

This is a small snapshot of your life that creates the chronic stress you’re experiencing. This is NOT a rite of passage that every hard-working woman has to experience to get to hit that next Partner promotion.

THE STRESS YOU ARE FEELING IS NOT BECAUSE …

  • You should have worked more before you left.
  • Your client is needy.
  • Your team is unprepared or unable to work without you.
  • You don’t have enough “resources”/people to support the project you’re working on.

These are all symptoms of burned-out leadership.

They are all created by YOU.

How you show up to your in-laws.

How you respond to your team.

How you manage your mindset when guilt and discomfort arise.

There are 3 extremely common mistakes burnt-out leaders make.

I’m going to reveal them all.

You will stress less, more often, which creates more time to do the things you enjoy.

P.S. It's that sneaky time of year when busy season wraps up (for some of us anyway) and we think our stress will go away. But the illusion quickly fades when a new project/client is dumped on our lap. Burnout doesn't ease up just because you hit your deadline. Now's the time to figure out HOW you're going to spend your time when you're not working 24/7, and prep for how you'll react when you're needed again. Join me next Monday.

P.P.S. Because I get this question a lot: This webinar will be recorded with limited-time replay access. :)
