SquareMeal celebrates a record June for Christmas party enquiries

It appears that the festive season has begun especially early this year, with a significant early rise in the number of Christmas party enquiries - particularly from corporate bookers.

SquareMeal has noted a 40% year on year increase in Christmas party enquiries sent in June 2024. This is a trend that we can see across the entire country, with many UK venues noticing a major surge in early Christmas bookings.

We're now comfortably out of the disruption of the pandemic, and companies are wanting to book as far in advance as possible to ensure they secure their preferred dates and the best venue for their festive celebrations.

Google Trends data tells a similar story, showing a notable early rise in searches for 'Christmas party' and 'Christmas parties'. Interest routinely peaks Monday to Wednesday, before tapering off at weekends.

But it's not just generic searches that are on the up. There is a rise in search for Christmas party venues in various cities, including Leeds, Northampton, Glasgow and Manchester. It is likely that this will continue to expand across the country as we get nearer to December.

Additionally, there is increased search for 'corporate Christmas party venues' and 'work christmas party ideas London,' with particular interest for 'Christmas party nights'. This suggests that larger corporate companies are amongst the first groups looking to book their celebrations early, as well as indicating that people are eager to find unique and more engaging options for their holiday celebrations.

SquareMeal’s Concierge Manager Tara Spink has also noted a similar pattern, with the demand for Christmas party venues on the up earlier than ever before.

Tara explains "Large and in-demand venues often see a spike in their festive enquiries in mid to late July. However, this year corporate bookers are looking to secure their venues earlier than ever. Monday to Wednesday are consistently our busiest days for corporate Christmas enquiries so venue sales teams may want to pay extra attention to enquires on those days to ensure a faster response time than their competitors."
