The 5 star rating system is so broken. Every service provider wants a 5 star, and heaven forbid you give them four stars, brace yourself for some disappointed, or even angry, looks.

Here is what the scale should look like.

3 stars - Your service met my expectations. You delivered as promised, doing everything by the book. Thanks. Good job.

4 stars - Your service exceeded my expectations. I was delighted by your attention to detail, proactive communication, and personalised touches. Thanks. Great job!

5 stars - Your service was outstanding. You have set standards for others to follow. It was a pleasure and I am walking away with a smile. Thanks. Awesome job!!

2 stars - Your service was below expectations. The delivery was riddled with issues and the resolution was not smooth. Thanks for trying, but there’s room for improvement.

1 star - Your service was terrible. There were problems with both what you delivered and how you delivered it. I’m more stressed now than when I started. Thanks, but I’ll pass.

Real world 3 - Below expectations 4 - Met expectations 4.5 - Exceeded expectations 5 - Outstanding I think we just need to add 4.5 in the rating system :P
