STN #102 - NFTs ready for the masses 👥
🔵 NFTs ready for the masses 👥
After analyzing, last week, the economic aspects related to the brands that have entered the NFT world and, taking for granted, as we have seen, that they represent a great business opportunity, this time we start with two news items to address the other main topic: mass adoption!
And the two news items are:
FIFA's first NFT collection will go on sale in late September featuring highlights from World Cup matches, both the men's and women's tournaments.
By buying NFTs, collectors will also get access to matches, physical merchandise, and other benefits to be announced soon.
But NFTs are not only collectable: Ticketmaster, one of the world's leading operators in live events, has unveiled its own NFT tickets: in addition to being used as souvenirs, they can also be used as proof of attendance at particularly important concerts, the famous "I was there" web3 key.
However, these NFT tickets will not be valid as admission tickets.
To date, more than 5 million NFTs have been mined on the Flow blockchain through Ticketmaster.
These two pieces of news, in addition to Zuckenberg's announcement to adopt NFTs within its own Facebook and Instagram platforms, are clear signs of further growth in the adoption of this technology that will have a huge impact on several businesses.
And, so, after the first phase where the focus was on monetization, the focus now shifts to mass adoption, enabling millions of users around the world, to enter this new era of the web.
This will by no means be a quick and easy process, partly because, very often, an approach to Education is used that consists of explaining "what NFTs are or how to buy them or what platforms to be able to trade them on."

In my opinion, however, Education should not take this form, but rather the benefits of the solution and its value proposition should be shown and explained.
It is not about educating users on how the technology works or the technical part, but about introducing them to an unknown world of possibilities!
It is about generating awareness of how the web3 and NFT project can improve their lives: only then, could we really have the NFTs adopted by the masses.
🔵 The German Football Association and ball tracking technology ⚽️
The DFB-Akademie, the Academy of the German Football Federation, has reached a cooperation agreement with TrackMan to use ball tracking technology to improve training.
The DFB-Akademie will use advanced tools to practice and improve skills in hitting and passing the ball in all aspects of the game.
TrackMan, best known for applications in golf and baseball, has pioneered a solution using radar technology that can provide the most accurate, real-time data on ball flight, data such as velocity, the axis of rotation, rate of rotation, launch angle, and time of flight. Combined with other metrics calculated by TrackMan, such as barrier height, goalkeeper coverage and scoring opportunity, it provides unprecedented information on critical and significant areas of the game.
🔵 Apple ready to bring fitness to VR
Apple is working to enable people to get fit in virtual reality.
The Cupertino-based company has filed applications for its long-rumoured VR and AR devices, a move that hints at a further shift in focus toward health and fitness.
The $2.59 trillion company's fitness efforts have focused on the Apple Watch series, which tracks many biometric data, and the Apple Fitness+ subscription service, which integrates this data into its fitness programs.
Apple may want to turn the tables on sports content consumption: the new headset may actually allow users to watch sports in VR. Apple has stepped up its efforts to acquire sports rights, buying MLS streaming rights in a 10-year, $2.5 billion deal.
NFTs are a terrible scam - avoid.
DevSecOps Problem Solver!
2yThanks for sharing your thoughts! Engaging the masses that have been to a concert with a specific airdrop or access to follow-up content is interesting as well to engage the audience! There is certainly more to this and it's interesting to see it evolve!
