Stop Creating Contents...

Stop Creating Contents...

Researching and accessing information has become easier with the world already moving towards AI content.

How do you compete with platforms like OpenAI, Cohere, AI21 Labs, etc.?

..by stopping your current content creation process.

And Start Creating Conversations that AI cannot do.

What’s a conversation?

In a simpler definition, it’s the art of starting a discussion, and it’s easy to do so using the following content strategies that you can implement in 2023:

  1. Start Telling More Stories: AI cannot articulate and write a story that belongs to you. This gives you a greater opportunity for you to share your stories. Be authentic, have your own voice, and never lie.

Here are some ideas:

  • Talk about why you do what you do.
  • Talk about your first income/client acquisition.
  • Talk about your life/career mistakes.
  • Talk about your day.
  • Talk about your breakdowns. (Be vulnerable if you want to connect with your audience truly)
  • Talk about your achievements and how you achieved them, guiding others in the process.

2. Talk about the current trends in your industry: Enough is going on in every industry; ensure you keep up to date with what’s happening in your industry. I use a free tool known as Google Alerts.

This is a small glimpse of what my alert looks like. Setting up Google Alert will take at least five minutes and help you create fresh conversations daily.

For anything that happens in the industry, I get an immediate alert, which I use to start a conversation on social media.

You must also become the first few people in your category to start a conversation, as that will give you an “authoritative” tag in your industry.

Once you become an authority, the chances of your content going viral are very high.

3. Focus more on video content this year in 2023: Let’s talk. Will you trust a brand online that has “NO” face?

2023 will be dominated by brands focusing on making videos but videos with faces on them. For example, if you can be yourself, your team, or your co-founders.

I have created around 260+ Reels/Shorts for 2023 (I’ll write another newsletter on this topic soon), which means I will post at least one piece of content every Monday to Friday this year.

This will give me time to work on long-form video content for all of you.

Speaking of long-form videos, I created this video last week and thought you would find it helpful.

Could you take a moment to like and comment if you found it helpful? The video talks about how you can generate 100s of leads per week without spending a single dime on marketing/sales.

4. Building Community is more important than ever: Ask yourself why you are creating content and for whom you are creating content.

If you are doing so, grow “YOUR” business, then say goodbye to content creation because that’s selfish.

When you focus on creating content, it’s critical to understand the “WHY” because that will give you a better direction.

Your goal should be to build and help fellow community members who, in exchange, will help spread your content to others because you took the time to help them.

This will also lead to people showing more interest in your content and engaging with them. Also, what’s more, important is to start responding to your audience in the comments section.

5. Build in public: I built firstsales.io in public last year. (Last year sounds so odd, it will take some time to get used to it). That led to a revenue generation of over $500k in ARR for us.

We spent nothing on marketing.

Here are what you can talk about when building in public:

  • Your first sales.
  • Weekly Update.
  • Monthly Update.
  • New progress.
  • New feature/service.
  • New Roadblocks.
  • How did you tackle those roadblocks?
  • Strategies that worked and did not work.
  • Meeting new people from your industry (Tag them and build a better memorable relationship)

6. Engage with trending content to build more visibility: Twitter last month released an interesting new feature. All your Tweet stats will now become public.

The data-driven marketer in me instantly screamed, “OMG”, because this is an opportunity for you to understand what works and doesn’t truly.

Forget about likes/comments; public stat is the new metric you need to be worried about.

One of my Tweets last week went viral that generated over 1.2m impressions.

But this is even more interesting:

..but these two comments, out of 100s of other comments, generated over 100k+ impressions alone.

This means that due to my content is going viral. These two people benefited as well, with better visibility for their profiles.

How do you find trending topics?

It’s simple, head to “Topics” on Twitter and click on the category relevant to you, and instantly you will find trending Tweets in your category.

Now go and become a part of the conversation.

7. Build for your audience, and optimize for search: Stop doing keyword research first. It’s 2023. Instead, do social media research (I will make another in-depth newsletter/video soon).

Or even better, ask your audience what kind of content they need help with, and create content for them. Once you know what you want to create, try finding keywords around that topic.

The video link I posted is made using the same methodology. Many of you asked me to create an effective way to do lead generation without spending any money, so I created a video for all of you and optimized the content around the keyword “Lead Generation”.

That’s how you build for your audience and optimize for search. Not vice versa.

If your content is not personal, it’s too generic in 2023, which can be easily produced using AI today.

AI is great at what it does, aka creating content, but it cannot start a conversation “Yet”.

Be yourself, be original and find your own voice if you want to grow on Social Media in 2023.

Start focusing on creating conversation, and stop creating content if you want to grow.

Do you have any questions?

Please drop the comment below.

If you found this newsletter even 1% helpful, please share it on social media with your friends, family, or colleague as I pour my heart and soul into these newsletters for all of you.

..and I will be truly grateful as it will inspire me to work on such pieces each week.

Happy New Year and have great growth in 2023.

Start creating conversations today. Bye.
