📸 Summit IX – The Official Galleries

It's been two weeks since we caught up on all things games industry here in Vilnius, at the 9th edition of the Summit.

We are all different: we speak different languages, we come from different cultures, we practice in different areas of law under different legal systems.

And yet we are very much alike in our passion for interactive entertainment, and in our willingness to embrace collaborative projects that cross borders.

We're experts in law; we're also experts in building bridges: between firms and between studios, between legal and production, between creative and business. The ambition to make great things happen is at the core of our community.

This issue celebrates the diversity, and the collaborative spirit, of the Summit. Enjoy!

The Red Carpet Gallery

Amelie Draper (Riot Games), Emma Verhaeghe (Riot Games), Boğaç Erozan (Riot Games), Vytė Danilevičiūtė (Riot Games), Jerod Partin (Riot Games) @ Games Industry Law Summit IX

This year, for the first time, we built a proper Red Carpet area, and had a dedicated photographer (Laima) take pictures on request.

The full gallery is available HERE.

If you're coming for the anniversary edition in 2025, we have a crazy idea that involves horses and magic wands... you've been warned!

The Summit Gallery

Emanuele Fava (Activision Blizzard), Xavi Muñoz (ECIJA), Nate Sabri (Perkins Coie), Brian Chung (Kim & Chang), Laurie-Anne Ancenys (A&O Shearman), Andrea Dufaure (A&O Shearman)

This year, our photographer Simas Bernotas took a bit over 5.000 shots, from which he selected the 2.000 that we then organized and edited down to exactly 900 – these are now released for your viewing pleasure.

Ladies & gentlemen: the official photo gallery of the Summit is available HERE.

From Austria to Australia, and from ABBA to Anthrax, these are the people that make the international games industry work: the in-house counsels and the law firm experts who possess the knowledge and the experience at the intersection of content and tech.

2025 Conferences

Summit On Tour III is scheduled for April 2025 in 🇮🇹 Rome, and is optimized for accessibility. At this time, we have 32% of the seats booked, and we expect to sell out by February or earlier.

Summit X is scheduled for September 2025 in 🇱🇹 Vilnius, and will mark the anniversary of the conference. We're currently checking the local regulations on fire breathing and juggling (lessons learned: you can have free alcohol or real crossbows – but not both).

We kindly invite the studios, and the industry-focused law firms, to apply.

The long-form features are back

The long-form features are back, thanks to Raman Ramanouski : he courageously took the liberty of interviewing the community experts from Chile and Colombia about the state of their consumer markets, and their regional games industry clusters.

Raman Ramanouski (Wargaming)
José Manuel Muñiz Herrera (ALMMA)
Jorge Bedoya C (IE Law Group)

The feature is HERE.

Warning: after reading, you may experience an unstoppable desire to help your studio break into the local charts and/or set up rep offices in Santiago and Bogotá.

What's next?

Who knows – perhaps, a look at the industry cluster (and tax benefits) in Cyprus, or an overview of Australia and New Zealand. If you have strong opinions... let us know!

Thanks for 2024 – and here's to an amazing 2025!

The past year has been quite intense: a lot of new studios and firms have joined the Summit's community; we got a chance to organize a conference in Limassol; and we experienced an unexpectedly warm weather while running the event here in Vilnius.

If you partnered up with us for the 9th edition of the Summit, your brand report is landing early next week. And if you want to be a part of our 2025 events, please talk to Alma Giedraitienė – the sponsorship deck for the coming year is almost ready.

Meanwhile, the work continues on the case files for Legal Challenge VIII. Zanele, Liam, Rohan, Anton... each of them has the right, in their own ways, to expect their projects come to fruition. The question is, what will the court say?

Have a great end of the week, and see you soon!
