Sunsetting 2023 Grow Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond

Aim Higher - Aim for Four Wins.” produced insightful response. I believe in leading with integrity over greed. One such leader is Sergio Signoretti - thank you for taking the time to craft:

“Adrian has a difficult mission: unlocking our potential, which can remain latent given the day-to-day challenges/routine. Yet he has a unique talent. He has enabled us to focus on what really matters in order to achieve growth through effective energy management, building trust through integrity."

During a wonderful business trip to Ireland, I watched the sun setting it turned my attention to ending of 2023. I reflected on the trust built, the relationships that have flourished, the payments knowledge gained. It made me realise that the goal in life is to have a purpose and not compare yourself to others but to compare yourself to you 12 months ago. Observe your growth. I was recently asked: “What is the future for the Payments Leaders advisory business?”

We will deliver on the brand promise, which is we are going to continue to operate in the payments ecosystem. We will impact leaders and their teams by providing honest, objective, and unwavering advice. We will continue to enable them to expand their leadership ability and to tackle the challenges of our day - transformational change. We will continue to build trusted relationships and show the way – that trust is an effective business mindset and approach.

Three key areas will be our focus:

  • Effective governance, identify latent revenue and reduce the cost of doing business. We operate in a regulated industry. We know from high profile cases the problems for all of us when companies test the regulatory framework with poor intention. We believe in partnering with regulators and to conduct good business practice.
  • The truth is not all revenue is equal in terms of risk profile. We will use our understanding of the ecosystem to grow our clients’ businesses, in an appropriate way. This involves partnering with executives to build and maintain trust with their teams, stakeholders, anticipating and serving customer’s needs.
  • Delivering on the vision to positively impact 20,000 careers. It is an aspiration, if I could deliver on that vision, it would be a life well lived. Having a positive impact on my team - I am very blessed to have amazingly talented individuals that deliver the work that we do. If we could get to a point where we could end career misery that would be amazing. I genuinely believe that people like Anant Patel is a fitting example of this who shows up to work every day, looking to have a positive impact on everyone he engages with and wants to have fun.
  • Culture is like holding the wind in your hands, so it is difficult to create an effective, empowering, and collaborative one. It starts with the leader; yet created and evolved by the team. We will continue to unlock leaders’ potential by increasing their understanding of themselves, their values and skilfully regulating their physical, emotional, and mental energy.

I recently interviewed a leader from the payments industry, and she shared how decision making is straightforward to her never mind the stress or difficulty of situation:

“Do the right thing.”

Payments Leaders Advisory will create the conditions and level of challenge to ensure more leaders follow this behaviour and lead with decency.

My challenge to you this week is how are you reflecting on the progress you have made over the last 12 months in building trusted relationships?
