Super Bowl Prop Betting

Super Bowl Prop Betting

Hi BestOdds Bettors;

During the 1985-’86 season, the Chicago Bears were beating up opponents with such ease that then Head Coach Mike Ditka was using the 350-pound William Perry in goal-line situations to run the ball. During the regular season, “The Fridge” actually punched the ball into the endzone three times.

Las Vegas Hall of Fame oddsmaker Art Manteris was running the Caesars sportsbook during the 1980s and saw an opportunity to attract even more bettors and public money on the big game.

Manteris decided to offer: The Fridge to score an anytime TD prop bet at +2000 odds when the Bears faced the Patriots in Super Bowl XX.

Us Old-Timers will remember The Fridge did indeed score a touchdown during the Bears blow-out win, creating an annual Super Bowl prop betting tradition that now includes hundreds of prop bets each year, many of which are not even game related.

Today, with a tip of our cap to Mr. Manteris and Mr. Refrigerator Perry, we focus our newsletter entirely on Super Bowl LVI prop bets.

Why You Should Listen To Brent:

Brentsky (as he is referred to in the office by at least one co-worker) is our social media legend and our in-house gambling expert. Looking for a gambling resource or an obscure gambling-related stat, find Brent.

Looking for relevant game-day betting trends and info, find Brent. Want someone to blindly bet all the women's favorites in the first round of the Australian Open with you… Brent is totally in for that.

Brent’s Prop Bet Analysis:

Super Bowl 56 features two of the most exciting offenses in football, with two of the most exciting QB's in the league facing off. E

ach team has explosive playmakers, ranging from likely Offensive Player of the Year Cooper Kupp, all the way to the likely Offensive Rookie of the Year Ja'Marr Chase.

Yet the best player in this game, and maybe in the entire league, plays defense.

Aaron Donald gets to match up with the weakest position group in this game by far when he will meet the Bengals' offensive line.

Did you know the Bengals' OL ranked 25th in the NFL this season in pass protection? Did you know that Joe Burrow has been pressured an average of FIFTEEN times per game this postseason?

Did you know the last time a defensive player won Super Bowl MVP was back in Super Bowl 50 when Von Miller happened to harass the reigning MVP at the time, one Cam Newton, who was playing behind an offensive line with similar stats to the Bengals this season?

The Super Bowl MVP action will strongly cater towards a quarterback, and rightfully so, but the value in this market is with Aaron Donald winning MVP. If we're going to have some fun with this bet, we might as well aim for the moon!

Pick: Aaron Donald to win Super Bowl MVP (+1800 at Caesars)

Bet: LA Rams Defense or Special Teams anytime TD

BestOdds.com Expert - Derek (Office nickname - DK)

Why You Should Listen To Derek:

If DK drinks beer, and I can only assume he has had an adult beverage or two in his life, then I’m betting he drinks Dos Equis Beer. DK might not be the most interesting man in the world yet, but he is definitely the most debonair of our group.

He is also the only person in our office who can match his shoes, belt, and flat brimmed hat for multiple outfits. If you can’t trust the guy with the matching shoes and belt for gambling advice, then I’m not sure who we can trust anymore.

DK’s Prop Bet Analysis:

The Bengals’ offensive line is bad. They have given up 12 sacks in just three games this offseason and Burrow is under constant pressure. The Rams know how to get after the QB, and I think their defense has a good chance of stepping up and making a play.

Whether that is a strip sack, and fumble recovery or Jalen Ramsey stepping in front of a ball and returning a pick-six, I think the LA defense has a good chance to score.

Pick: Rams Defense or Special Teams to score anytime TD (+600 at Caesars)

Bet: Gatorade Color (dumped on winning Coach)

Sportsbook: Caesars

BestOdds.com Expert - Josh (Office Nickname - Josh)

Why You Should Listen To Josh:

If Josh were a baseball player, he would be a mixture of Tony Phillips regularly injected with Barry Bonds’ steroids all underneath a mop of hair that rivals Sideshow Bob.

Those of you too young for the Tony Philipps reference, the man could play every position on the diamond, and we haven’t found a position yet that our Josh doesn’t excel at.

Super Bowl Prop Betting

Josh’s Prop Bet Analysis:

Not only is Blue indisputably the best tasting color there is, but we have some actual data science behind this bet. Although you shouldn't solely bet on a team because of their jersey color, in this case, betting on a Gatorade color to match the jersey of the winning team makes total sense.

If you were the Rams equipment staff in charge of laundering dirty uniforms, isn’t your best odds of getting them clean matching the Gatorade to the color of the jersey? The obvious answer to that question is yes.

Historically speaking, you'd also be betting on the Gatorade color that won this bet in two of the last three years. At +200 Odds, the orange Gatorade tastes a little too chalky for my liking. I’m all in on +400 Blue.

Pick: Blue Gatorade (+400 at Caesars)

As we are only three sleeps away from the biggest sports betting event of the year, I wish you the best of luck with all your Super Bowl picks and parlays this weekend.
