Sustainable Packaging Newsletter (53) It's ok to upset people

Sustainable Packaging Newsletter (53) It's ok to upset people

This week several of my posts pushed some buttons, and that's ok! We need to get these conversations going about what needs to happen in packaging to be more sustainable!

I suggested that Starbucks did a good thing by reducing their plastic by 10-20% and a lot of people had a lot of negative feedback. Saying things like "That's not enough" and "They could do more" and I really feel like we should celebrate these packaging changes when with such a large footprint this will be a major impact.

Of course they are working on reusable programs and figuring out how to do more, but the only way is progress.

Stay tuned for an episode of Sustainable Packaging Podcast with Cory and Brodie with Starbucks (It's in the approval process) and I hope to learn more from them.

Cory I view pushing buttons as a way to solve a problem and create a better solution/process/attitude. If we all just sit back and are content with the 'norm', then that's wrong. Proactive beats reactive.
