Swati Maliwal Accuses AAP of Plotting Personal Attack Amid Assault Case Investigation

Swati Maliwal, Rajya Sabha MP and former Delhi Commission for Women chief, has made new allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). On Wednesday, Maliwal tweeted that she received a call from a senior AAP leader who warned her about intense pressure within the party to defame her. Maliwal also accused the party of planning to leak her personal photos and threatening those who support her.

Allegations of Intimidation and Smear Campaign

Maliwal detailed that the senior leader revealed a concerted effort to undermine her, with specific roles assigned for spreading misinformation and organizing smear campaigns. She expressed her disappointment, particularly with female party members who, she claims, are complicit in tarnishing her reputation.

Assault Allegations Against CM's Aide

The allegations come amid an ongoing investigation into an assault case. Maliwal has accused Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, of physically assaulting her on May 13 at the CM's residence. Kumar, currently in police custody, allegedly slapped and kicked Maliwal in the presence of Kejriwal.

Ongoing Investigation

Kumar was brought back to Delhi from Mumbai for further investigation, including data recovery from his phone, which was suspected of being wiped clean. His phone, laptop, and CCTV footage from the incident are undergoing forensic examination.

Party's Defense

The AAP has defended Kumar, asserting that Maliwal entered Kejriwal's residence without an appointment, intending to cause harm on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They maintain that these allegations are politically motivated.

Maliwal's Stand

Maliwal remains defiant, stating she will continue her fight for justice despite facing immense pressure and standing alone in her struggle. She underscored that she is committed to pursuing her cause regardless of the obstacles.
