Swimming for Venture Trust

Swimming for Venture Trust

Every year Venture Trust has swimmers swimming the Forth to raise money for charity. This year it was Kathleen's turn. Venture Trust realised the below post about Kathleen's efforts.

Massive congratulations to our supporter Kathleen Hoy who completed the Vigour Events Firth of Forth Swim beneath the majestic The Forth Bridges recently for Venture Trust.

Kathleen has now raised a whopping £835 for our charity.

Kathleen celebrated her success with her daughter Stephanie and reflected on the big day.

“I finished the swim in 55 min which was 10 minutes quicker than my best time in training. I was really pleased to finish. The weather was so good to us and conditions very fair. I'm not cut out to be a competitive swimmer but I have pushed so many of my limits and very proud of what I have achieved. I just can't quite believe it is over but glad to be back home with my feet up. It has been an emotional weekend!”

It wasn’t an easy challenge for Kathleen who wasn’t a strong swimmer as a child. She signed up in March and has put in training most weeks since then. She continues… “I may consider another challenge in the future but for now I am happy to settle back to a quieter life for a bit!”

Kathleen is clear about the benefits of taking on a challenge for herself and of course the money raised is vital to ensuring those who need a helping hand can get the support they need from Venture Trust's programmes.
