Target small achievements to go long way

Target small achievements to go long way

People make lofty targets and often fail to achieve the same. Remember the so-called new year resolution that often fail.

From my experience I have seen that setting small goals and achieving them plays a very important role in long run to achieve big success.

If you have a big target, break it down into small tasks which can be achieved just like climbing a big mountain. When you are climbing a big mountain which would take 4-5 days, your target is not to keep scaling until you reach, but rather you set yourself a daily achievable target. Once you achieve all of them you will find yourself at the top.

If you want to make changes in your life, very small change is needed on regular basis. In-fact we should set a target for ourselves so small, that no matter what your excuse is, you will still achieve it.

The point here is to be happy with whatever you achieve but be consistent in achieving these small targets and being happy.

I would be happy to coach if someone wants to make real life changes using this method.

See you soon.

I fully agree and like the way you have presented the importance of breaking down the bigger targets into smaller achievements and I think we are today moving towards the same incremental or agile approach as stated by you. Thanks for sharing it Bimal.
