tdm newsletter: 2024 wrap-up
As we close the door on 2024, there’s no denying it’s been a rollercoaster of a year for those of us in the housebuilding and property industry. A new government has taken the reins, mortgage rates have started to dip below 3% and inflation is finally showing signs of stabilising. Thankfully, planning reforms have taken a step forward with the latest updates to the National Planning Policy Framework - the real impact of which we will find out in 2025…
This year has proved that no matter the market, the right people are still the backbone of success and we’re proud to have supported candidates into roles across the housebuilding sectors.
15 years of tdm
This year, we celebrated 15 years of tdm! What started in a spare room, back in 2009, has grown into the UK’s leading property recruitment consultancy, placing hundreds of professionals across all levels. Over the years, we’ve developed our own talent with senior team members rising through the ranks and we’ve focused on developing the next generation of talented consultants. We’re excited to see what the next 15 years will bring!
stepping up for those in need
We’ve also spent the year putting our time, energy, and sleeping bags to good use, supporting causes that make a real difference. We swapped our beds for sleeping bags and spent a night outside to raise funds for Porchlight and those without a safe place to call home. The experience was a stark reminder of how much we take for granted like the ease of staying warm, finding a drink, or going to the bathroom. It was a humbling experience and we’re grateful to everyone who helped us raise £680 for this fundraiser. Find out more about fundraising, donating or volunteering for Porchlight here.
Throughout the year, we’ve been volunteering at Canterbury Food Bank. This year, they distributed an incredible 116,163 meals, helping 6,204 children and 8,111 adults. We’re proud to have done our part and look forward to continuing our support in 2025. If you'd like to support Canterbury Food Bank, find details here.
We’ve continued to support Dover Rugby Club as sponsors this year and stepped up with a fundraiser that brought in over £500 to support Dover's youth and underprivileged community. With so many of our team actively involved in the club, it was a great excuse to combine our love for rugby with fundraising.
And finally, we were proud to celebrate and sponsor Canterbury Pride this year. It was a great opportunity to get involved with the community and we look forward to continuing our support in the future.

looking ahead to 2025
It’s been a lively year for housebuilding and property to say the least. From Gove’s resignation to housebuilders being told not to talk to each other, there’s been no shortage of headlines. With demand for homes showing no signs of slowing down, we’re hoping 2025 brings some real progress, and maybe a housing minister who sticks around long enough to make a difference.
Before we sign off, a massive thank you to everyone who’s been part of our journey this year. Whether you’ve been with us since the spare room days or just found us in 2024, we’re grateful for you.
Wishing you a brilliant Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Cheers,
