Team-Building Exercises for Remote Employees

Team-Building Exercises for Remote Employees

When your teams are remote – or when you have remote workers alongside in-person employees – team building can be a little more challenging. You need a workforce that can collaborate and work together effectively, though.

Fortunately, there are creative ways to engage remote employees so they don’t feel isolated.

Here are a few team-building exercises that will bring people together, no matter where they work:

  • Lunch-and-learns: Utilize the lunch hour now and then to bring people together. You could host discussion sessions or bring in an expert to teach employees something they’d be interested in and can share.
  • Virtual conferences: Many conferences and conventions across industries have gone remote, which helps more people attend and learn. Consider sponsoring teams to attend relevant online gatherings where they can learn and develop their skills.
  • Volunteer opportunities: Engage remote teams with incentives to work in their communities and give back. Plan outings and days of service where employees are located or create online giving opportunities.
  • Ask-the-CEO sessions: Create an engaging space for teams to log on and talk to the CEO, CFO, or other executive. This provides an opportunity employees to get to know business leaders and facilitate answers to pressing questions in more informal settings.

Consider how you can incorporate these ideas into your unique team dynamic. You may choose to send around a poll asking which activities people would benefit from the most.

Prioritizing your team means creating plenty of opportunities for connection and collaboration.

At StaffLink, we understand that supporting employees requires a lot of moving parts. Contact me now to start talking about how to incorporate better Human Resources solutions.
