T.G.I.F - Thank God It's Festival
Festivals teach us that life is to be celebrated, no matter who we are, what we do, or where we are. “Life without festivals is an error.”
Have you ever noticed how the aura changes with the arrival of a festival? The whole community is filled with good hopes, happiness, and celebrations, uplifting your mood and filling you with positive energy. Festivals give us the opportunity to forget past troubles and start anew. They allow us to utilize this time positively, as our faith is high. Humans, a mysterious species, have the power to change the world with a little faith, and festivals help us do just that.
One thing that always amuses me is the importance of festivals like Diwali, Eid, Christmas, or any other. I love each festival because life itself is a festival to be celebrated fully. However, in today’s era, despite being more connected through social media and technology, festivals have become mere holidays, forfeiting their true purpose. Festivals are meant to reflect, react, and reenergize our mind, body, and soul. They are not just for paid leaves but for celebrating our inner child.
WTF: Wow, That’s Festival!
F-The-Materialistic: Festivals encourage indulgence. It’s okay to be materialistic during festivals. Enjoying a Magnum ice cream on Diwali or Eid is a perfect indulgence. Be unapologetically materialistic during festivals. After all, calories don’t count during festivals, right?
F-The-Offline: Festivals are about spending time with friends, family, and loved ones, which boosts happiness and love. In our digital world, the purpose of togetherness is fading. Instead of sending forwards, try calling or meeting people. Real connections are more meaningful. Plus, it’s a great excuse to avoid those awkward forwarded messages from your distant relatives.
F-The-Thank You: Festivals are a great opportunity to express gratitude. Thank those who make your life interesting. A heartfelt “Thank you” can make someone’s day and create lasting memories. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a good ego boost?
F-The-Concrete Nature: Despite the concrete jungle, festivals bring positive vibes. For example, during Durga Puja in Kolkata, the city transforms into a fantasy land. Embrace the festive lights and energy. It’s like the city decided to throw a party and forgot to invite the traffic jams.
F-The-Stories: Festivals create memorable stories. Reflect on childhood festival memories and create new ones. Festivals are not just breaks but opportunities to create lasting stories. Remember that time you tried to make a rangoli and ended up with a colorful mess? That’s a story worth telling!

F-The-Hip: Look your best during festivals. It’s a time to feel good and be trendy. Dressing up boosts self-confidence and the feel-good factor. Think of it as your annual audition for a Bollywood movie.
F-The-Child: Embrace your inner child during festivals. Celebrate with innocence and joy, becoming a “Weapon of Mass Celebration.” Because let’s face it, adulting is overrated.
F-The-Love: Festivals are a unique opportunity to express love to family and friends. Don’t take loved ones for granted. Show your love and appreciation, making the festival special for everyone. Give them a hug, a smile, or even a piece of that Magnum ice cream you were indulging in.
F-The-Joy of Togetherness: Festivals are all about the joy of togetherness. They bring people closer, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Sharing laughter, stories, and meals with loved ones creates bonds that last a lifetime. So, put down your phone, gather your loved ones, and enjoy the simple pleasure of being together. After all, nothing beats the warmth of human connection.
F-The-Mental Well-Being: Festivals have a profound impact on mental well-being. They provide a break from the daily grind, reducing stress and anxiety. The festive atmosphere, filled with lights, colors, and celebrations, boosts mood and promotes a sense of happiness. Engaging in traditions and rituals can also provide a sense of purpose and belonging, enhancing overall mental health. So, go ahead and immerse yourself in the festivities—it’s good for your mind!
F-The-Shine Factor: Don’t consider festivals as just another routine. See them as moments to shine and bring out your best self. Try to look good as much as you can, unapologetically. Festivals are your time to sparkle, so embrace it fully. Whether it’s wearing your favorite outfit or trying a new hairstyle, let your inner light shine bright.
Live fully and celebrate festivals in the best possible way. Love like there’s no tomorrow and enjoy every moment. Life is an incredible adventure with highs and lows, but it’s precious. Keep creating the best stories of your life and celebrate with the “F” word in mind.
Let there be love and light in your life! Stay inspired and never stop celebrating!
Wishing you a very happy festive season! And please don’t forget to add music into it – it will increase your mental well-being manyfold.
