Threads app chief shares advice, Triller is finally public, Dude Perfect CEO interview
Hi there! This is Amanda Perelli, and welcome to our weekly creator-economy newsletter, Business Insider Creators.
Here’s what to expect in this week’s edition:
Meta is dishing out new advice for creators on Threads.
The platform is sharing tips on how to create engaging content and how often to post.
Sydney Bradley spoke with Meta's head of Threads about what the platform is advising creators to do on the app.
Emily Dalton Smith , a VP of product management at Meta and head of Threads , said creators using the app should remember that it's "a real-time conversation app."
These tips come as Threads has recently been embroiled in discussions about its users’ viral engagement-bait content.
Remember TikTok competitor Triller?
Well, the creator and marketing company is finally trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker ILLR.
The company went public via a reverse merger with a Hong Kong-based company called AGBA.
Triller has been exploring going public since as early as 2020.
Dan Whateley wrote about Triller ’s pitch to investors.

YouTube group Dude Perfect just hired its first CEO.
Former NBA exec Andrew Yaffe has joined the team to help grow the business beyond YouTube and into a full-fledged media empire.
I spoke with Yaffe who broke down the company's business plans and the importance of connected TV.
"Our vision is to build Dude Perfect into what a 21st-century media company looks like," Yaffe told Business Insider. "We're going to build a team that'll deliver great content to our fans and great products and experiences to families in the US, and across the world."

2moWhen Dude Perfect says they're about to show the world what a "21st-century media company looks like," I believe them. They've been around since the early days of YouTube and have consistently made the right decisions for their brand. Can't wait to see what's next... Awesome interview and post, Amanda Perelli!

2moHere's the thing, I actually love Threads and in theory it is "a real-time conversation app" KIND OF. It's real-time in the way that you post in real-time and respond in real-time BUT Threads is not serving up content chronologically which is a gap in it being a true real-time app. Until they can do that there is still a huge piece missing. They're still new so there is a lot of opportunity to evolve but we don't see them working towards the things that would make it more of a real-time conversation and community platform.
