Three Little Things

Three Little Things

It has been another tough year for many of us, combined with negativity and divisive behavior. It has taken a toll, and I look forward to taking time with family and friends, especially with my son, who is coming in from California for the SMU/CAL game (go Mustangs!).  Hopefully, most of us can relax and recharge before the new year. But for some, it’s a time of sadness and loneliness.  They can be the people closest to you, but they can also be a client or colleague.

Here are three things to remember to do this season.

 1. You can’t get anywhere alone. You can, but the journey isn’t as fun. I mention this to remind us that nothing can be built without working together. Never forget the importance of the interplay between you, your colleagues, and your clients. That symbiotic relationship is vital to the work that you do together. It can’t work without it. Be thankful for it. Celebrate it.

2. Take time to thank the people you work with daily, as well as your clients and connections.  Let them know that you are thinking about them. Pick up the phone and give a little cheer.

3. Help someone in need. It can be through mentorship, volunteerism, donation, or a small deed. The power of support is universal.

I am so grateful to everyone this past year especially those in my professional and personal life. Thank you, for your confidence, and for helping me build my skills. My life is richer with all of you.

May you and yours have a safe, happy, and blessed Thanksgiving. And don’t forget to thank everyone who has helped make you a better person!
