The Time is Always Now: Introducing Industrious Marketing

I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Industrious Marketing.

Industrious Marketing is a marketing practice that prizes people first. We stay rooted in the principle that successful marketing connects people to fulfilling solutions. We believe in creating lasting connections with our clients beyond the professional - as true partners and friends. We’ll have fun along the way and leave things better than we found them, be it ourselves, our work and our communities.

So why now? It’s quite a time to be starting a new venture - really an adventure. The weight of what’s been happening globally is heavy, and so is the one I’ve been carrying personally. In the midst of all of this, we’ve been watching my mother decline physically and mentally from Parkinson’s disease.

Why now? I learned from my mom that the time is always now.

My mom spent over forty years as a physical therapist, working in hospitals and nursing homes, caring for her patients. She would come in and get her patients moving with a blend of encouragement and no excuses. “We’re going to get up now, get moving now, start getting you better now.”

Part of that urgency is medically related - patients need to get up and get moving to prevent complications like atrophy, sores, and blood clots. The other part comes from my mom’s innate drive to help people get things done. Even as the early signs of Parkinson’s started to interfere with her work, she still was one of the most productive physical therapists on staff.

I know her patients deeply appreciated my mom’s care. They couldn’t give her gifts directly, so to skirt that they would give my sister and me gifts as a token of their appreciation. She helped them do the work and feel good about it. Everyone could see the results.

It’s come full circle now, my mom is the patient. She recently split her patella and had a partial hip replacement. Two surgeries in 48 hours. Of course, she wants to get up and get moving now. Her mind and her spirit can’t understand her body can’t. Not yet.

But I can. I can get moving on something that taps into my professional and personal strengths to help people. As I put together our mission statement above, I realized that’s how my mom lives her life and how she executed her entire career. That mission comes from my mom - hers relates to physical therapy instead of marketing

So you’re right mom, as you have been about most things (okay all), the time is always now.

For all of you reading, thank you for your support. Stay tuned for additional updates.
