Some beautiful paths can't be discovered without getting lost - Erol Ozan

Last summer, I made the decision to become self employed...

...only it wasn't my brand. I was refining, promoting and improving it for someone else.

Although I'd learnt a lot about how to offer content writing as a service, in March this year the partnership dissolved, and it was messy. Within a day of the decision being made, I was told to stop using the branding and by the end of April, I was completely on my own.

I cannot tell you how lost I felt in that moment. I didn't feel ready to go it alone.

The toxic environment I'd been working in had completely undermined my self confidence.

But I had to "be" something, so Scrivo Social was born.

Taken from the Italian "to write" (which is what I do), and inspired by a character in my favourite opera, La Bohème, I set about creating a banner, a business and a brand. Overnight.

I am forever indebted to Ashley Leeds who picked me up, dusted me off and helped me to get started.

It wasn't long before the opportunity for another partnership came up and I jumped at the chance. I abandoned my brand, so early in it's own development, and helped someone else build theirs.

I had a great 6 months being an instrumental part of growing and developing a brand in the same space, only for it to end unexpectedly.

😨

In these experiences, I've realised that I love finding a USP, positioning the tone and language of the business and developing a strategy to grow that business further. I enjoy coming up with ideas, tearing down roadblocks and making the path ahead much clearer.

I have a really interesting set of skills...

So where is Scrivo Social Media heading in 2023?

  1. Live shows - Despite really struggling with video content, I really enjoy live shows. I want to keep talking to small business owners about their story, where they'd like to be and what might help them to do things differently. But I also want to have more conversations about mental health as a small business owner, so you can expect to see more conversations on the topic...
  2. Newsletters - Yes yes, I know the whole world and their sausage dog is doing a newsletter these days, but I'm not like the others 😉 I want to write something that can really make an impact to small business owners who are looking to get started on LinkedIn by creating refreshing and engaging content within their network.
  3. Ideas sessions - I've been giving away my creative brain for months, but after my recent experiences, I've realised something FUNDAMENTAL...

I'm being farmed for ideas.

So if you want real growth, you have to pay for the seeds.

If you're interested in breaking down barriers in your content or your business, one session of having a creative sounding board can COMPLETELY transform the way you think.

I love what I can do for small business owners struggling for time and creativity, and I know I can help others...But not everyone wants a ghostwriter, and not everyone can afford someone to do it for them. Sometimes, all they need is a little boost.

So I think that's where I'm heading. Plenty of seed sowing.

Maybe you've just finished your business plan for 2023 and this has come up. If so, drop me a message.

Oh and yes...I do write content for websites 😉

Thanks for the invite, Odessa. This looks fun & helpful!👍🏼

It's not a Bandwagon Odessa It's an incredible way to give value to people and build your brand. Everyone needs a newsletter to stay in touch with customers and share the knowledge. It's not about selling. It's about adding value and building that all-important trust factor Thank you for your kind words. You've got this
