True friends stay, no matter what

Last night, I joined a group of friends to do healing meditation virtually for one of our friends’ niece who’s under quarantine and still waiting for the coronavirus test result. We have known each other for 3 years now and when we heard the news the day before, we showed up because we care for each other. The energy was so beautiful and our connection was getting stronger and stronger. We were there for each other, especially during these challenging time! Today I met a friend and we talked about how only when bad things happen, we will know who our true friends are. Because during good times, it’s so easy for people to be there celebrate with you but true friends stick around when things get tricky. True friends stay and have our back and trust that we will do the same when it’s time. I myself have experienced this few times in my life, enough to know who my true friends are and who are just my acquaintances. I used to say yes to help everyone, no matter who. Then I realised that my energy and time are limited, if I say yes to everyone, I won’t be able to help my all true friends. That’s when I learned to say no more often. I am comfortable to say no to people who’ve never been in touch with me for years and then suddenly show up saying hi and asking for help. I also say no to people who are fake and pretentious, who are only nice and kind with people who can bring some values to them. I say no more often now so that I really can say yes wholeheartedly to few true friends who stick with me through thick and thin. I hope you have these true friends in your life. Be that true friend to your loved ones. Be there when things are good. Be there when things are bad. Be there because you care.
