Turning Pain into Power: Your Guide to Transforming Loss
Six months ago, I found myself at a crossroads. Our nonprofit organization, dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities, was facing financial challenges. Donations had slowed, and the costs of running our programs were rising. I felt the weight of responsibility on my shoulders, knowing that many relied on our support.
In my moments of quiet reflection and prayer, I asked God for guidance. I needed an idea, a spark, something that could help us generate the income needed to keep our mission alive. I prayed fervently, seeking divine inspiration to navigate this difficult chapter of my life.
Matthew 7:7-11 - Jesus says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you". He also says, "Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent?" .
One day, a friend told me about how a mutual friend was having some success with advertising, I stumbled upon a concept that piqued my interest: optimizing ad spend on Facebook and Instagram. I had a basic understanding of social media advertising, but I had never delved deeply into its potential for generating income. I felt a nudge, a quiet whisper in my heart, encouraging me to explore this further. I decided to heed this inner call and dive into the world of digital marketing. When you ask God for Direction, He gives you a Strategy.
With limited funds, I began to educate myself on the intricacies of Facebook and Instagram ads. I spent countless hours reading articles, watching tutorials, and analyzing case studies. It was during this period of intense learning that I discovered a powerful hack, a method to optimize 40% of our ad spend. A New Chapter: An Inspirational Journey to a Facebook Ad Spend Secret
This previously unknown strategy involved advanced targeting options, dynamic creative optimization, and strategic bid management. I found that this approach could significantly enhance the efficiency of ad campaigns. Armed with this knowledge, I set out to implement the hack.
At first, the process was daunting. There were moments of doubt and frustration, but I reminded myself of my prayer and the guidance I felt I had received. Slowly but surely, I began to see results. Our ad campaigns started to perform better, reaching more people and generating higher engagement.
Within three months, our return on investment (ROI) had increased by 40%. The improved ad spend efficiency allowed us to reach a larger audience without increasing our budget. Donations began to flow in steadily, and we were able to expand our programs and support more individuals in need.
The statistics were astounding:
This journey taught me invaluable lessons about faith, perseverance, and the power of divine guidance. What started as a prayer for an idea had turned into a tangible solution that transformed our nonprofit's financial health. It was a testament to the belief that when we seek help with an open heart, answers come in unexpected ways.
Today, our organization thrives, reaching more people and making a greater impact than ever before. Every ad campaign we run is a reminder of the chapter in my life where faith and innovation intersected, leading us to new heights.

As I reflect on this journey, I am filled with gratitude. I am grateful for the challenges that led me to seek divine guidance, for the inspiration that steered me toward digital marketing, and for the unwavering support of our community. Most of all, I am grateful for the lesson that even in the toughest times, there is always a path forward – sometimes revealed through the most unexpected avenues.
This chapter of my life has not only strengthened our nonprofit but has also reinforced my belief in the power of prayer and the importance of embracing new directions. It is a story I share with others facing their own challenges, hoping to inspire them to seek guidance, trust the process, and believe in the possibility of transformation.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN FACED WITH LIFE CHANGING DECISION
TAKE INVENTORY
You are the average of the five people you hang with. When big changes come, take an inventory of the people around you. Some will need to be replaced; I don’t mean hurt people, call them out for their shortcomings, or make changes in a rude manner. What I do mean is your ability to work your way through a maze will be determined by your inner circle. My recent loss was difficult for me personally, and when I did a personal inventory, out of ten people, I only had a few armor bearers. Some people are only there in the good times and flee in the difficult times. It’s essential to surround yourself with individuals who will stand by you through thick and thin, offering support, encouragement, and genuine friendship. By consciously choosing who you keep close, you can better navigate life's challenges and emerge stronger.
KNOW WHO TO ASK
Dialoguing with God is crucial during challenging times as it helps remove personal biases and feelings of loss, allowing you to refocus on the truth: "the world didn't give it to you and the world can't take it away." Protect your joy, knowing that God wasn't surprised by your circumstances this morning; He already has a plan. Your job is to right the ship in the most ethical and positive way possible. By trusting in God's guidance and maintaining a dialogue with Him, you can navigate life's storms with grace and confidence, ensuring that your actions reflect integrity and faith.
FUTURE PERFORMANCE
It's essential not to associate past experiences with present challenges or future opportunities. In 2007, I lost $5.6 million due to the banking crash, but my family and personal circumstances remained unharmed. This month, after three years at our $5.7 million campus in Chesterfield, Missouri, the plans for homeless youth that we had been working towards changed unexpectedly. This shift meant altering our long-term goals, leading me to decide to sell the campus and move on. I had to consciously avoid linking the 2007 scenario with the current situation. Back then, I had no control, which bred insecurity, fear, and uncertainty. Today, I see the incredible privilege of witnessing countless blessings at the Epic Empowerment Campus. With God's grace, we helped thousands, and it was nothing short of amazing. Despite this new adversity, God provided me with a strategy to assist business owners and generate wealth to support homeless youth in unprecedented ways.
