JOHNSON AND JOHNSON ORDERED TO PAY $417 MILLION IN TALCUM POWDER-CANCER LAWSUIT:

J&J was ordered to pay $417 million to a 62-year-old woman who said she got ovarian cancer from using the company's talcum powder. The company was accused of not warning customers of the risks of the product, despite studies linking it to ovarian cancer. Johnson & Johnson has already paid $300 million to settle four other cases about the same issue. The company plans to appeal this particular verdict, saying it stands by the safety of its product.

REGULATORS REPORTEDLY SET SPOTIFY IN SIGHTS:

Federal regulators are reportedly taking a closer look at Spotify's plans to skip a traditional IPO. SEC officials met with executives from the music-streaming service last month to get details on the plan, according to Bloomberg. Spotify wants to list directly on the NYSE later this year, or early next. If the company goes through with a direct listing, it won't raise any funds as it would in a regular IPO. But, Bloomberg points out, it could introduce uncertainty into the market, since the price won't be set based on demand or investor feedback. Spotify would be the biggest company to opt for a direct listing over the past decade, and the first ever for the NYSE.

UBER'S NEXT CEO: ELON MUSK?:

One of Uber's initial investors has a new idea about who should lead the company ... Elon Musk. Angel investor Jason Calacanis believes Tesla and Uber should merge, arguing a deal would give the ride-hailing company the boost in autonomous driving that it needs and could help Tesla break into more markets. Calacanis says if the two got together, they would surpass everyone in the transportation industry. However, Wall Street might not agree. Neither company is profitable: Tesla lost $400 million last quarter and Uber reportedly posted a $700 million loss in the first three months of the year. Tesla also has a $58 billion market cap. That's smaller than Uber's private market valuation of about $70 billion.

He has enough on his plate (i,e. Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Co, NeuraLink, Solar City) to even consider a non-challenge like Uber. Because he's a self-taught programmer, I think he'd start his own "Uber" instead of working on someone else's project.

Let him try it. Then we'll see how good he is.
