Unleash The Power of Goal Setting: The 7 Steps to Design Your Life Plan and Achieve Your Goals!
“If you don't design your own life plan, chances are you'll fall into someone else's plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much!”
Jim Rohn
Setting goals is crucial for navigating your journey in life.
It means knowing where you are heading and gaining a better understanding of your current position so you can create the right plan!
By setting clear goals, you ensure that your steps are always moving in the right direction.🚶🚶
It’s easy to get trapped in the busyness of everyday life, working tirelessly to climb the ladder of success, only to realize it's leaning against the wrong wall.
It's possible to be busy without being truly effective, focusing on efficiency instead of effectiveness.
Efficiency without clarity of purpose is fruitless.
It is essential to first be effective in defining our aspirations, as without a clear vision, our efficiency holds no significance.
Identifying what we truly desire lays the foundation for success, enabling us to apply efficiency effectively.💪
The Productivity Pyramid:
Benjamin Franklin followed an approach to organize and pursue his goals, starting with identifying his core values.
He began by determining his values, then proceeded to prioritize and gain clarity on each one.
The Productivity Pyramid model outlines four steps to concentrate your time and energy on what holds the utmost importance to you and what you aim to achieve in life—your highest priorities. Let's get deep into each of these steps.
Note: I added 3 more steps on the top of the four outlined in the Pyramid , to make sure we close the cycle of Plan, Do, Check, and Act!
Step 1: Identify Values💎
Values form the foundation of the Productivity Pyramid since they embody what holds the greatest significance to us.
They serve as the fuel of our life's passions and guide us in directing our energy.🌟
Our values should act as the driving force behind every aspect of our lives.
Neglecting them creates a fracture at the base of our personal pyramid, potentially destabilizing the entire structure.⚠️
Note: in the first edition of this newsletter, I explained in detail, step by step, how to identify your core values and purpose.📝
Step 2: Set Goals🎯
A great life is created and built one step at a time! With a clear vision and blueprint!
Exactly like building skyscrapers—or any ordinary building—everything starts with a vision, starts with a clear goal.
Then, they begin creating the blueprint, planning the resources and materials, and only after that, they commence the execution!🏗️
Goals are a type of blueprint for your life.📐
Define the goals that match with your values! ✅
Next, for each goal, articulate the necessary steps to accomplish it, determining the indicators of success for each step, and setting target completion dates.
Take a look at the example worksheet below to see how you can define your goals and the corresponding steps that will guide you towards achievement. 📋
Step 3: Plan Weekly 📅
After identifying the necessary steps to achieve your goal and determining their estimated timelines, it's time to plan your actions on a weekly basis.
Dedicate 15-20 minutes at the start of each week (preferably the day before the week begins) to create a list of meaningful milestones that must be accomplished to ensure timely progress towards your ultimate goal.
Below is an example of a weekly planning worksheet to guide you in this process. 📆

Step 4: Plan Daily 🌞
In this step, allocate 5-10 minutes each morning, or the day prior, to plan your daily activities.
This practice ensures that you prioritize what truly matters and prevents getting caught up in the busyness of everyday work.
Begin by focusing on high-priority tasks that contribute to your goal achievement, rather than allowing less significant activities to consume your time.
It is crucial to document your plan, whether in digital or hardcopy format, so you have a constant reminder of what needs to be accomplished.
This document will serve as your compass, guiding you towards what truly matters.
Below is an example of how to effectively plan your day, and remember the following three steps for daily planning: ✔️
Step 5: Evaluate ✅
At the end of each day, take a moment to evaluate your progress.
Did you successfully complete the assigned tasks? If not, reflect on the reasons behind any unfinished tasks and identify strategies to ensure their timely completion in the future.
Similarly, when the week comes to a close, evaluate your overall performance and propose corrective actions if the planned objectives were not fully achieved.
This evaluation process allows you to learn from your experiences and continuously improve your planning and execution. 🔄📈
Step 6: Hold Yourself Accountable 📆
Even with the most well-crafted plan, without the necessary discipline and accountability, your enthusiasm may fade, and your goals might slip away.
It is crucial to integrate your daily and weekly planning into your calendar and hold yourself accountable.
Each day, before going to sleep, ask yourself, "Have I done what is necessary to bring me closer to my goals?" Reflect on how you can become more effective and take the actions needed to stay on track.
By holding yourself accountable, you ensure that you remain focused and committed to achieving your objectives. ⏰📝💪
Step 7: Do Your Best 🌟
As humans, we experience ups and downs, which is why it's important to give your best effort without pushing yourself to the point of burnout or settling for less.
Strive to strike a balance by consistently giving your best in pursuit of your goals.
And when you achieve a milestone, take the time to celebrate and acknowledge your accomplishment.
This celebration will generate positive energy, strengthening your determination and discipline to tackle the next steps ahead. 🎉💯💪
In conclusion, the power of goal setting cannot be overstated.
By designing your life plan and following the seven steps outlined in this newsletter, you have the ability to unleash your true potential and achieve your dreams.
Remember, if you don't take charge of your own life, someone else will.
Don't let others dictate your path; instead, create a clear vision and blueprint for your success.
