Vycarb Launches Pilot Project for Carbon Dioxide Removal in New York City

Vycarb, a prominent carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and storage player has launched an innovative pilot project along New York City’s East River. 

This initiative, backed by the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation’s Yard Labs program, aims to demonstrate Vycarb's advanced technology for capturing, removing, and storing carbon dioxide.

Situated at the waterfront of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the pilot project is designed to permanently remove and store 100 tons of carbon dioxide annually using water and minerals. 

Vycarb intends to showcase the system's scalability and cost-effectiveness, contributing to broader efforts to combat climate change

As global carbon dioxide levels continue to escalate, the need for effective climate action is increasingly urgent. While reducing carbon emissions is critical, it must be complemented by viable carbon removal strategies.
