West Australian Good Food Guide's Truffles Unearthed Series heads for sell-out on first release events
We are delighted that the launch event of our third annual Truffles Unearthed Dining Series presented by Truffle Hill is approaching sell-out, with all other events on-sale seeing strong sales to date. The series aims to showcase WA producers, highlight front of house and chef talent and bring together lovers of West Australian produce in a diverse range of dining experiences, supporting WA venues.
Optus Stadium will launch Truffles Unearthed in style next Wednesday 22 June with a six-course feast at the Victory Lounge, which will be transformed into a ‘pop-up’ restaurant with in-house DJ for the night. Western Australian produce will take centre stage at our season’s curtain raiser headed by executive chef Jochen Beranek; think truffled lobster, truffle-infused gin and dishes such as Glacier 51 toothfish with a crayfish dumpling, roast chicken jus and morels. Limited tickets remain here
On Tuesday 12 July, a collaboration for the ages will come to life at Rockpool Bar and Grill as Vue De Monde executive chef Hugh Allen flies over from Melbourne to join chef Brendan Owens’ team for one night only at an exclusive and indulgent truffle affair.
Linger over a long lunch at Leederville’s Will Street on Thursday 4 August with an inventive menu by chef Will Meyrick, which will be released in the coming weeks. Secure your seat at one of the hardest-to-get-into new restaurants of 2022.

On Saturday 6 August we return to a favourite of the series as WAGFG’s 2021 Restaurant of the Year, Vasse Felix and 2021 Regional Chef of the Year, Brendan Pratt renew their seasonal love of Manjimup’s black gold. I am delighted to be hosting this dinner with the formidable chief Vasse winemaker, Virginia Willcock.
Truffles Unearthed then heads to the iconic heart of the city at Cathedral Square’s State Buildings for a night to remember at Post, hosted by WAGFG’s Contributing Editor, Max Brearley. Join us on Thursday 11 August at the Italian osteria where a menu inspired by European simplicity is executed by executive chef Kim Brennan with wines by WAGFG wine judge and State Buildings sommelier Emma Farrelly.
Finally, it’s time to party at Indigo Oscar for a truffle-season finisher by the beach. Tom Haynes and the Indigo Oscar team are set to bring the good times with a Latin American-style truffle cocktail party on Sunday 21 August.
