The Washington State Ferry (WSF) a Division of the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) currently seeking a Senior Operating Program Budget Analyst position (TPS 5). The position is essential for the major budget functions of the Ferries division operating program budget which has a biennial budget of $770 million and over 1,900 full-time employees. Duties include sophisticated budget analysis of complex transportation issues and an application of expert knowledge to budget development, budget execution, and financial analysis in a challenging, dynamic work environment.
The incumbent works with and provides insight and information to executive management, senior management, organization-level managers, and other key staff and works directly with ferry operations, maintenance, and planning departments on budget-related transportation issues. In addition, the incumbent communicates with WSF directors on budgetary, legislative, regulatory, and policy issues pertinent to program operations and to the ferry operating program budget.
The ideal candidate has strong finance, analysis, and data skills and brings at least five (5) years of professional budget experience, including significant experience with operating budgets. Preferably, the candidate will have experience working for public agencies in the transportation field. Candidates are problem solvers who maximize the use of data, are good communicators, and are constant learners.
