🏳️⚧️ Ways to support your trans colleagues
🌈 As Trans Awareness Month draws to a close, it’s essential to reflect on the experiences and challenges faced by the transgender community, both within and outside the workplace.
According to Stonewall's 2018 research, a staggering 41% of trans people have experienced a hate crime due to their gender identity in the past 12 months.
However, there is a steady increase in social acceptance for trans individuals, with a Williams Institute report finding that over 70% of Americans support policies that protect trans people from discrimination.
These statistics underscore the urgent need for continued advocacy but a growing support that will hopefully lead to positive outcomes for trans people.
In this edition of our newsletter, we will share stories that highlight the resilience of trans individuals, offer insights into creating a more supportive workplace, and provide resources for allies to better understand and assist their trans colleagues.

🎄18.12.24 - Well that is me done for the year on Social Media, See You all in 2025!..🎄 Best Ross Matthew Gates 💯
3w✅️ As I had to 'run through fire' in the process of accepting my sexuality, which I would not wish for anyone else, I find these statistics damning, and one of the reasons I worked tirelessly to shine a light on the disparity which exists in UK Hate Crime legislation reference, personal characteristics and aggravated offences, which I was advised by the UK Home Office, in writing in July 2024 that 10 Downing Street were carefully contemplating how to implement this important uplift in legislation, as a bespoke LGBTQ+ Influencer and Mental Health advocate, I look forward to the day when the hate crime figures for trans people diminish considerably.
