WE ARE HIRING! ASSISTANT ACCOUNT MANAGER IN THE SPEAKERS DEPARTMENT – START DATE ASAP

Permanent contract, part-time

  • Hours: Monday-Friday 20hrs spread evenly across a week, office based in Central London with some hybrid working
  • Salary: £28,000 pro rata, per annum
  • Start date: ASAP

Who we are

The Soho Agency is a leading literary, theatrical and talent agency based in Soho, London. We represent clients across a range of areas including award-winning on-screen and digital talent, internationally best-selling authors and illustrators, leading writers, directors and creatives for theatre, film and TV, high-profile speakers and major brands.  We are a boutique agency (with 24 employees) with a rich history and  high-profile client list which includes Tim Peake, Rangan Chatterjee, Nigel Slater and Michael Mosley.

The Role

This role is to provide administrative support to the Speaking department of the agency.  

It's an operational role, and will suit someone who enjoys process (and improving processes) and can work quickly and effectively. Important strengths and skills for this role include attention to detail, organisation and efficiency. 

Job Specification

  • Maintain efficient relationships between TSA and our clients
  • Negotiate deals, draft contracts, invoicing
  • Provide logistical support in fulfilling client bookings; from initial enquiry through to event completion
  • Booking travel, accommodation etc when necessary; create detailed itineraries, arrange briefing calls
  • Update new and existing speaking clients profiles on our website, and compile marketing mailouts via substack 
  • General office administrative duties   

Experience and Skills

  • An exacting attention to detail, an ability to manage several tasks at once and good problem-solving skills are key, as is the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (including Outlook, Word, Excel – inc. spreadsheets & Canva) 
  • Confident and clear communication skills
  • An enthusiasm for collaborative work as well as a self-starter who can work independently without direct task supervision 
  • Discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Relevant commercial and/or industry experience in events would be particularly helpful
