WE, THE PEOPLE, HAVE HAD ENOUGH!
Senator Rick Scott: Newsletter@rickscott.senate.gov
The people of South Florida, in particular those who live in Miami Lakes / Hialeah and Palm Springs North are experiencing serious traffic issues… so much so that residents have contacted excellent Channel 23 reporters: Erika Carrillo and Ambrosio Hernandez to deal with issues of traffic.
Right before the school year starts, Palmetto X-Way removal of lanes that are vital to our ability to flow out of our communities… bridge @ 170th which is scheduled to open by December 2019, and another bridge @ 154th that is hotly debated by surrounding communities, angering communities on both sides of I-75.
We have had enough!
The Palmetto X-Way is reduced by two lanes to create express traffic lanes, which are nothing but another tax without representation coming our way.
This area has an average salary of $40,000 per year, people that struggle each and every day to make ends meet, not to mention a large ‘fixed income’ community as retirees prefer this area to live.
Last night, a report by Channel 23 covers who is responsible for the nightmare we live under and yesterday’s 08-16-2019 Channel 23 news Investigative report by Erika Carrillo, revealed to its audience that Miami-Dade County is not responsible, nor is it MDX…
The responsibility lies with the State of Florida because under RICK SCOTT’S administration… you tried to created a network of express lanes, first starting with I-95, following with the Palmetto X-Way and even considering the Turnpike…

Palmetto X-Way
Are you upset with the new charges on the Palmetto X-Way? We will tell you who approved and where the money goes. Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez says not the County, he also explains how on the Turnpike, we will have a charge to get on it and another charge to travel through express lanes… the fault lies with now Senator Rick Scott!

We are livid… you… Senator Rick Scott… of all people… should know that this is UNACCEPTABLE, you are destroying Trump’s ability to win Florida because everyone is so very upset… and we all know that Florida is a key State!!!
It is unthinkable that a State that has Republican Senators / Governor will have to deal with the fact that REPUBLICAN Administrations are responsible for tax increases when the promise made to the people of Florida was reduced taxes at every level!
We DEMAND the immediate removal of these express lanes and that the State of Florida, starting at your level, Counties and Municipalities STOP abusing the governed!!!
This message will be shared with every State representative including sending it to The White House.

07-25-2019 Opening of 154th and 170th Street Bridges
Recommended by LinkedIn
Hialeah families demand two bridges opened as they confront heavy load trucks traveling through their neighborhoods and the chaos this represents.
A community that lives between 138th and 170th Streets with only one exit / one entrance, the same roads they share with heavy load trucks. An accident paralyzed traffic for over five hours and now residents DEMAND a solution, which in their opinion, would entail opening the bridges at 154th and 170 street, to connect to Miami Lakes.
Radio interview - La Poderosa 670 on AM - where Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez offends Miami Lakes residents by calling a small group: RACISTS!
34:56 I am quite clear when I speak, in Miami Lakes there is a small group, anti-Hialeah, who are RACISTS, they do not want to connect with Hialeah, I do not work with them, Hialeah is the 5th city in size Commissioners want the bridges open and that should be done
Hialeah does not need Miami Lakes, if Hialeah disappears, Miami Lakes would have to close. RACISTS who do not want to connect with Hialeah through two bridges.
08-11-2019: Hialeah Mayor Channel 23 interview
Mayor of Hialeah responds to the community that is placing blame for lack of planning on the North-West residential zone of Hialeah.
Carlos Hernandez discusses the complaints that his administration did not plan access / exit roads for a zone that has grown by over 3,000 homes, nor for a large industrial area, both of which count with only one traffic road. Hernandez says this is not true and announces the opening and construction of new viable road option
08-11-2019: Miami Lakes Mayor Channel 23 interview
Miami Lakes Mayor looks to avoid the opening of a bridge that will take Hialeah’s traffic to Miami Lakes, explaining why: Manny Cid claims Hialeah’s administration is responsible for providing the required infrastructure options needed for a residential / industrial area on the NW of Hialeah, without affecting Miami Lakes. Manny Cid states that the decision to open said bridge ‘must be done when the require infrastructure is in place to counter-act the congestion / gridlock that opening the bridge would represent for Miami Lakes.

Watch the above shared video of the meeting held on Monday, August 19th, 2019 @ 7:30 PM, at Town of Miami Lakes’ Town Hall…
We arrived early to get a seat as the meeting received the highest attendance in recent history. Mayor Manny Cid, Vice Mayor Nelson Rodriguez and Council members were all present. Joshua Dieguez, Marilyn Ruano, Jeffrey Rodriguez, Luis Collazo and Carlos Alvarez.
Also on the dais: Town Manager Ed Pidermann, Town Attorney Raul Gastesi and Town Clerk Gina Inguanzo. The meeting opened with a Pledge of Allegiance lead by Councilman Dieguez, followed by a prayer by Councilman Luis Collazo who asked for ‘wisdom’ as they discussed these rather important issues.
Watch as Town Attorney Raul Gastesi does a great job explaining Conflict Resolution and Litigation. Former Mayor Wayne Slaton provided historical context on the bridges. Miami Dade County District 13 Commissioner Esteban Bovo, Jr. was present but District 12, Jose ‘Pepe’ Diaz failed to attend, sending a representative in his place.
City of Hialeah Mayor Carlos Hernandez, while invited, was also absent.
Representative on behalf of Cindy Polo, Florida House of Representatives, District 103, Democrat was in attendance, something we sincerely appreciate as Rep. Polo’s office has attended each and every Blasting meeting and is now present to understand the concerns of District 103.
Channels 23 leading the effort, also in the room Telemundo [Channel 51], Miami Herald and other news media. To make sure the public was informed, the meeting started with Town Attorney, followed by Former Mayor Wayne Slaton and then Public Comments started…
A packed house, not a seat available and people standing on the isles toward the exit doors… a great demonstration of community involvement in support of defending and protecting the governed, whether from Hialeah, Miami Lakes, Palm Springs North and even Country Club of Miami all community members want a solution to the traffic issues created by lack of infrastructure, lack of roads leading to major highways, over building without planning for the resulting traffic.
