1. Why Consulting Skills Are a Must-Have on Your Resume

In an uncertain job market, everyone is keen to stand out from the crowd. Data analysis, client liaison, and situational adaptability skills are all part of a Salesforce Consultant’s day-to-day responsibilities, but consulting also boasts a wealth of soft skills which could make the difference in your next interview.

These soft skills can be seen across a whole host of roles – from business analysts to architects – and they go hand in hand with technical expertise.

  • Analytical
  • Problem solving
  • Communication
  • Conceptual and practical thinking
  • Collaboration
  • Organizational/time management

Regardless of the role you’re pursuing, and whether or not your consultant skills translate into Salesforce certifications, it’s definitely worth including these hardcore soft skills on your resume.

2. Embed Images in Salesforce Dashboards

With the start of a new year, it’s a nice time to check in with Reports and Dashboards – the ‘friends’ that every user leverages. While these have been around for a long time, some recent upgrades have put them back on the radar. Unlimited Edition customers have been able to add images and text directly into dashboards since last summer.

This has now been rolled out across all editions, so everyone can look forward to enhancing their reports.

So, let’s talk about the latest updates that any user can take advantage of:

  • Chart or table: Insert Lightning tables as needed – especially useful when the underlying report doesn’t have a grouping.
  • Rich text: Add extra details, instructions, and reference links to your dashboards while controlling text size and color.
  • Image: Scale and align the images and GIFs you add to your dashboards.

The component limit has been increased from 20 to 25. Great news for admins and others designing reports!

4. Salesforce Data Cloud: Things You Should Know Before You Enable It

It’s no secret that Data Cloud skills are in high demand right now, but this isn't a tool that can be mastered overnight. While its extensive capabilities and complicated intricacies may be a little daunting for some, it’s worth getting to grips with this absolute powerhouse.

Here are a few key considerations before you dive in:

  1. Data Cloud (Starter) vs. Data Cloud for Everyone – Customers can use Data Cloud for free (up to 10,000 unified profiles).
  2. Regional prerequisites – Data Cloud is reportedly only available for orgs that are located in North America and EMEA.
  3. It’s not available for sandboxes – You must activate Data Cloud in your production org.
  4. Data Cloud doesn’t merge records – A unified profile combines a range of data points from various data sources, which can be both demographic and behavioral.
  5. Data Cloud is not a data lake – It’s not designed to be the one place you store your enterprise data.

Have your use cases ready – Nail down your use cases so you can see exactly how the product can bring the most value.

5. Salesforce India's Rapid Expansion: Is It the Fastest Growing Market?

India brings a huge amount to the table in terms of strong partnerships, support programs, and tech talent. And with the APAC region seeing an impressive 18% YoY growth, India is now one of the fastest-growing Salesforce regions in the world.

Over the years, Indian businesses have seen rapid adoption of cloud technologies, and as a company, Salesforce has had an increasing presence in India since 2005 – 10,000 people are currently employed across offices in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, and Jaipur. With more users than any other market outside the US, this strong presence is mirrored on the Trailhead platform.

YouTube has also become a very popular resource for users, and here at Salesforce Ben, India represents our second largest YouTube viewership (again, outside the US), showing a real appetite for video-based educational material.
