A joint venture between Rhode Island-based construction firm Gilbane and German engineering company Zueblin has secured a $969 million contract to build a hospital for the U.S. Army at a military garrison in Germany. Under the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Medical Center Replacement project, the industry team will construct a 985,000-square-foot facility with nine operating rooms, 120 examination rooms and 68 beds, the Army said Thursday.
